I am liking the corelated combo of sacks/fumbles over too.
I giving the 2nd half over strong consideration too. 16.5 is low and you should have one team playing desperate and pressing which may lead to turnovers/defensive touchdowns/great field position. 2 td's and a field goal seems very probable. |

10 plays on a single ticket, especially for a playoff game, just ain't enough. Forum sounding awfully in tune right now tho. Good work so far guys:
TICKET 1: ROETHLISBERGER OV (vs a less than stellar pass def, and without a solid run game to depend on, hurt or not Big Ben WILL play *he always risks his ability to function later in life for the team* and he will throw the football) WALLACE OV (with how well Antonio Brown has played of late, Mike W. has witnessed his REC on the decline for quite a while now. However, it is to note Wallace led the team in REC for the season and will more than likely be the look-to guy for Big Ben today as experience trumps standout every time in the playoffs. Not to mention, when looking over the numbers, it seems Big Ben has avoided Wallace over the past few weeks not cuz he's altered his preferred target wideout but because he's faced some of the strongest pass def in the league) PASS OV (Steeltown is pretty strong on the pass and DEN is in the bottom five in the NFL at stopping the deep throw. Wideouts Brown & Wallace should each rack one up for PIT seeing as the line here is INCREDIBLY low @44.5 for their respected talents. However, if all else fails and the Steelers can't pull off the bomb, DEN themselves possess two excellent deep threats in WR Decker & top-round pick Thomas. PIT owned the best pass def in the NFL for 2011 and the only way DEN can strike through the air will be to look deep...and don't count out the hail mary. All or nothing time now L&G) RUSH OV (22.5 is insulting. DEN was the #1 ranked run offence in the NFL for the 2011 season and, even if PITs strong rush def can contain them, RB Redman is still a good bet to break for 20+ vs DEN weak run def) TICKET 2: SACKS OV (Big Ben always good for a few + DEN no slouch at racking up sacks + Tebow's first playoff matchup & inability to find his receivers + blitz attack of PIT, namely S Polamalu *pressuring the QB is his specialty* + loser goes home + likelihood of a close conclusion should push this number OV) FUMBLES OV (for all the reason stated above in the sacks OV + RB Redman inexperience as a lead RB + Roethlisberger known to give up the ball on late from-behind hits + DEN WILL push the ground game) FGM OV (tough number as a LONG FGM will be required to cover here. I'm banking on the game being close and both kickers, tho not highly ranked, can & have hit crucial FGM for their club this season) 2ND HALF OV (Feeling the forum on this one. Both clubs struggle to score and both more than likely will wear down a little from amped up play of 1st half to allow a few extra scores in the 2nd...that and it's Tebow time!) Here's the writeup I had prepared for the game itself: pit -9.5 v DEN vs SPR: DEN SU: PIT Pittsburgh has all the experience needed to ensure a victory on the road this weekend in DEN. However, the Broncos will put up a fight, something the Steelers haven't been one to muster over the past few weeks. Since his ankle injury in CLE in week 14, always shaky but ever-reliable PIT QB Ben Roethlisberger has amassed just 1 TD, 4 INT and 5 sacks. Add to that account RB Rashard Mendenhall has been placed on the IR for the season for PIT, S Ryan Clark is out, backup RB Redman fumbled more than once last week vs CLE and the team as a whole has amassed a paltry 2 TDs in their last 3 road games with an abysmal 2-6 record vs the spread. However, DEN won't get off easy on their home field this weekend. Faltering or not, Steeltown has won 2 of the past 6 Superbowls and their #1 ranked pass def in the NFL should force the pass-deficient Denver Broncos into a one-dimensional run-and-gun offence all day, a critical flaw that teams have exploited vs DEN over recent weeks. QB Tebow has looked quite ordinary if not inept over his past 4 games, having fumbled 4 times, been sacked 15 times and thrown 5 INT. With S Troy Polamalu sure to rush QB Timmy T and force the errant pass/sack all day, don't look for PIT to dominate but to edge out enough points to buck the Broncos from the 2011 playoffs. Good luck out there today. E.L.E. |
