I'm not sure why I'm such a Poolsfan. I try and try and try. Doesnt matter if it's basketball, hockey, baseball or football. Thrill of the big $ chase I guess. I keep track of all my expenses and decided to take some time and add them up today.
What I did discover is that I have been closer to winning more often than not lately since joining the site. I have discovered such things as the Streak For Cash, NHL Database, Etc. Not to mention watching the forums and interacting a little.

Anyway, since October 2010 to date my dollars out are $7,440.00.

Pools I've won:

07-Nov FOOTBALL CARD 10 $230,715 $138,431 31 $4,465.50
(Without a doubt the most exciting day of my gambling life)

22-Apr BASEBALL CARD 141 $5,616 $3,369 17 $198.20

(Not bad-paid for a few more tickets)

Wait for it

15-Dec BASKETBALL CARD 27 $28,830 $17,298 1,395 $12.40

Down $2769.90

Why did I post this? No idea.LOL
Call it venting.

Poolsfan

Even though you are in the negative there are some positives for you:

You did win 3 of them and like you said one was the one of your most exciting days

I have won 0 pools, so close a few times. I almost had one of those exciting days last Sunday

My philosophy is we all have some disposable income and as long as you stay within your means nothing wrong with going for the big $ chase.

I actually try and handicap (operative word is try) to exercise my brain during the winter months while waiting for golf season plus to keep me entertained while watching sports

It is when one goes beyond their means and expectations they possibly fall into traps to chase the recovery for losses, which usually leads to a deeper hole

good luck, keep trying I know I will but on a smal scale, if it is meant to happen it will

I will now consider you to be my therapist.
Yes always within my means and always fun, well mostly fun. I have just seen many Maller's with their records attached to their posts so I thought I would share mine.
Hope we can all share in some pools celebrations on here.

lol, maybe I need a therapist, another day of 1 game losses, 3 of them on line

soccer: (could not catch a 2 gamer, how sad)

coll basketball: teaser (4 gamer bought 4.5 pts still lost on 1 game)

hockey took tb instead of the over which was my first instinct

good thing I am not a professional gambler cause I would need more than a therapist, my wife would hire a hit man, lol

Game #2 TB will be the one that kicks me in the ass as well. I wouldnt worry about the hit man, if there is such a person I'm sure my Wife has him under contract already.
Have a good night Gampa.

I know it's a bit late but my picks for the pool were:

Buffalo
Tampa Bay
Washington
Islanders
St.Louis
Detroit

Winnipeg
Boston
Vancouver
San Jose

So with only a 10 game pool, I doubt that even if all 4 of my picks for Wed. night work out I will win. I never know what to do with Toronto. They could totally flub, or like tonight, score 7 goals against a good team. I'm a huge Leafs fan.....but that might change if I lose this pool because of them, lol.

Just an observation, but when did Tampa qualify as a good team?

They may be playing bad this yr , but they were 1 game away from the finals last year so they have the ability to start to play better .. last night would have been a good starting point...

TB sunk me last night as well..

Almost half a season this year and they still get respect for what they did last year? I guess I missed that.......this year they are 4pts from last in the eastern conference, 30th in goals against?
