The City Limits of Austin seem to still be open despite reports of severe weather...
I had to laugh that Gaborik might miss the game because of a fluke knee laceration from Lundquist's skate in practice and there is a concern that the Ranger players living outside of the city will have a hard time reaching MSG because of a snow storm tonight and tomorrow.

It was another PROFITABLE week for us although it didn't end on a high note. The OVER didn't come in for us in the Super Bowl, but we still made money on the week cashing in +1.65 units of PROFIT.

Just a quick weekend recap, we lost one unit on Saturday after all was said and done and 1.05 units on Sunday and that was lost from our +3.7 units heading into the weekend's action. Also, for those of you who invested in the props during the Super Bowl, they also made some money for you, so overall a good week for us.

A big card of 6 investments for us today as the NHL winds down to its big break during the Olympics. Let's get to the action shall we.

take: Carolina Hurricanes -0.5 +135...1 unit...(regulation only)...vs Florida Panthers, game time is 7 p.m .e.s.t.....If Carolina wasn't coming off a 4 game road trip we would have more stake in this game. They own Florida at home, going 18-2 against them since 03 and have outscored them 10-4 this year in two meetings in Raleigh. Florida struggling to score. Great value on Carolina to once again dominate this matchup at home. 1 unit in reg.

take: Nashville Predators -0.5 +135...1 unit...(regulation only)....at NY Islanders, game time is 7p.m. e.s.t.....The bad news is Nashville has lost 4 in a row on the road, the good news is they have won 5 in a row over the Islanders. Nash can score and can defend on most nights, the Isles, not so much. Isles have lost 7 in a row and have scored only 9 goals. They're in tough against a hungry bunch of Predators. 1 unit in reg on Nashville.

take: Ottawa Senators -0.5 +114...1 unit...(regulation only)...vs Calgary Flames, game time is 7:35 p.m. e.s.t......The Senators are back at home tonight where they have won 5 in a row and just after they sustained their first loss in almost 3 weeks with a flat effort in Toronto. Now they face a team in Calgary that has collected some points on this road trip that will be without a top player in Rene Bourque. Ottawa wants to bounce back here and can vs a Calgary team I'm still not sold on. Once again like home team and the value in 3 periods. 1 unit.

take: Tampa Bay Lightning +131...1 unit.....vs Vancouver Canucks, game time is 7:35 p.m. e.s.t...Van since it's big comeback win versus Toronto really haven't shown much on this road trip and are heading into Florida facing a rather hot Tampa team. They have a 6-1-1 record their last 8, have scorers Stamkos and St Louis in rather strong form and are getting great goaltending from Nittimayki who is 6-1 his last 7 with a miniscule 1.10 GAA. Tampa as a whole is allowing only 1.6 goals per their last 5, compared to Vancouver who are allowing 2.6 and allowed a weak Boston attack to pump 41 shots at them in a lucky win. Tampa stays hot with a nice win tonight as good priced home dog. 1 unit.

take: Detroit Red Wings -0.5 +134...1 unit....(regulation only)...at St Louis Blues, game time is 8 p.m. e.s.t....St Louis has lost 3 straight overall, and 4 in a row at home and still maintain their spot for the worst home record at the bottom of the league. They are also playing back to back here after getting pasted in Colorado last night. Detroit on the other hand gets a key ingredient back in their lineup in Johan Franzen and this team knows they have to kick it in gear at some point. Tonight is a good spot for them and I like this price in regulation on Detroit to get it done. 1 unit.

take: Dallas Stars/Chicago Blackhawks OVER 5.5 +104....1 unit.....game time is 8:35 p.m. e.s.t.....The Stars are horrible on the road, no question about it. However, Chicago's price is too high both on the moneyline and regulation for me to consider given their lacklustre play right now and the fact Dallas is 2-0 in the series this year. That being said, the Blackhawks have a chance to get out of their funk against a Dallas squad that is allowing 3.9 goals a game against on the road in their last 17. Chicago is hungry while Dallas is confident off a strong 4-0 win vs Phoenix on Saturday. 6 of last 7 meetings have gone OVER and both teams will bring it tonight. Like the OVER and the small takeback price. 1 unit.

strong consideration:
Carolina -1.5 +225 vs Florida
Boston +140 at Buffalo
Michigan State -2.5 vs Purdue

cheers, PROFIT

Good day last night going 4-2 for +2.84 units of PROFIT. Also hit a nice single on Carolina on the puckline. A great way to start the week. Hope to continue the winning ways tonight with 3 plays.

Congrats to all other winners from last night as well.
