I got a 1970 Zenith tv for sale...

You seem to have a pretty good idea of what you want. Download the Flipp app and do a search for what interests you and it will price compare all the major stores for you.

DigitalHome dot CA is a great Canadian forum for all things to do with consumer electronics and Canadian service providers. I suggest that you also bounce your question over there too.

Vizio's were great value for what you got, they were designed in the U.S. and built in Mexico. Recently sold to a Chinese manufacturer though, so be wary for the time being.

Samsung is the way to go, you can pair your tablet or phones if they are Samsung, then you could load kodi onto the tablet or phone and cast it to the smart tv. If you are not in a rush wait till black Friday we should get some good sales my friend just bought a 55" 4k UHD $1800 the step up to a 65" is a big jump in $ but I'd go big

I agree with most here the Vizio M series are great tvs, i grabbed the 70" 4k last year and dont regret it! You cant go wrong with samsung tvs either. The only dissapointing part was shortly after i bought mine the high dynamic resolution ones were released and the picture on those are wow, especially for 4k content. Another thing to take note is if you buy your TV at Costco they give you a two year warranty no questions asked.

Cnet is also a great place for reviews and finding the optimal settings for your TV.

If you can hold out until canadian black friday they have the best sales for tvs. I bought a Sony Android TV for 1500 which normally runs 3k. Beauty of having it run android is I am able to install lots of apps and kodi. Great apps for free HD sports tv and local stuff as well. Since purchasing the TV I finally dropped my TV package since all the stuff I watch Live can be found in HD1080 on many android apps. For sounds system, I got myself wired system so not sure where to point you

Good timing.
I hear there is an unadvertised in-store flash sale at Best Buy today (sep. 12) on open-box TVs. So, quite likely floor models, demos, and returned products with minor repairs.

Check out Rtings.com - Reviews and Ratings they have extensive guides for TVs, they thoroughly test each TV in their list to a ridiculous degree and they even sort them for you, i.e. Best Value, Best Under 3k, Best 50"/55"/etc.

I decided on getting the 65 inch new Samsung " frame tv ". It's a very clean design and hangs like a picture would on the wall . I also got a Samsung 4k blue ray DVD and a Samsung 9 speaker sound bar. To say the least I went way over budget and I still need a stand... installation is a week or 2 away.... thanks for all the input. This frame tv is very new and it hasn't been thoroughly reviewed. Thanks again to all who offered opinions
Ajc

Good thing you didn't go with the vizio as some models no longer have a tv tuner. Basically just a monitor.

I'm a big fan of OTA and Niagara is a sweet location.

You mentioned an HD antenna interest above.

OTA = over the air (free) channels

See TvFool.com for a report of the available channels and signal strength based on your address.
