Betters on Betfair are tipping Junior Dos Santos to overcome Shane Carwin ahead of their explosive heavyweight title eliminator bout at UFC 131 in Vancouver on Saturday. The hard-hitting Brazilian is the 4-6 favourite to win the tie and line-up a shot at reigning champ Cain Vasquez.
Carwin boasts an identical MMA record to that of Dos Santos, both have 12 wins and one loss, but odds of 11-8 suggest that the American powerhouse may well fall short in his quest for a title shot.
Both fighters are well known for their punch power; Dos Santos is a 5-4 shot to win the bout by KO, while Carwin can be backed at 7-4 to do the same. Dos Santos is available at 13-1 to triumph by submission, with Carwin out at 26-1.
Betfair's Alex Bake said: "This promises to be one of the most brutal heavyweight fights in recent years. These two monsters are renowned for their ability to KO opponents, so there's a decent chance it'll happen Saturday."
