UFC Fight Night 124

Scottrade Center - St. Louis, Missouri - Fox Sports 1
Sunday, January 14th

Played now at current odds while available as a Dog ... IMO I have no clue why Jessy Jess is sitting at -125.

Paige VanZant +105

Small ... ALL Heart, No Head play ...

Hall with no doubt should be the favorite (IMO around -200 or so) NOT -325 with his track record ... Non TRT old man Vitor holds value at this price in his final UFC fight.

Vitor Belfort +265

For old times' sake ... I share a favorite video.

Vitor is about the same age as me and watching him DESTROY / KILL the UFC when he was 19 was just mind blowing ... Sad to see the GOATs / Legends finally get old and fade away ... Vitor will always be one of my top 5 favorites ... Would be awesome to see him finish with one more W

Win or lose Sunday, "THE PHENOM" was one of the Very Best the sport has ever seen ...

Worth noting ...

Uriah Hall admits camp for his upcoming fight vs. Vitor has been rocky.

For one, Hall is a bit worn out. He didn’t really stop training after his previous bout, a “Performance of the Night” knockout of Krzysztof Jotko this past September.

“Three weeks ago, my body shut down,” Hall told MMAjunkie three days in advance of his meeting with the soon-to-retire Belfort at UFC Fight Night 124.

The challenges weren’t just physical. One of his coaches, Robert Follis, took his own life in the middle of camp. Like many fighters who trained at the famed Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, where Follis taught, Hall found himself grappling with profound loss at a time he was supposed to be ramping up for competition.

One day after that, one of Hall’s best friends passed away.

“Then prior to that, I was sick for three weeks,” Hall said.

OF COURSE ...

Uriah Hall was not able to make weight, fight with Vitor Belfort has been scrapped.

Darren Elkins vs. Michael Johnson has now been bumped up to the main card.

Hall fainted on in his way to weigh ins and was rushed to the hospital

2 sources say he suffered a seizure in the midst of it all.

While this was never a monster card, losing Belfort/Hall and Cummings/Alves really hurts as Alves is a big name who fought GSP for title decade ago and Vitor is sure future Hall of Famer.

Numbers probably not going to be great now for this card

In the 18 months leading up to the implementation of the early weigh-ins for MMA, a total of 17 fighter missed weight for UFC bouts.

In the 18 months since ... 51 fighters have missed weight or failed to weigh in for UFC bouts.

Early weigh-ins needs to stop ... its screwing everything up and ruining almost every event.

Go back to the old way that worked.

this card is on the fight network which I don't get. I'll get it off the android box, but seems a bit lame now

The prelims and main card are on Fox Sports 1

Only looking forward to a couple fights ... the Main Event should be interesting, I think its a pretty good match making

All 3 plays (including VanZant posted above) are just small plays

Michael Johnson -180

Doo Ho Choi -185

Paige breaks her arm / hand in round 1 and is as good as worthless the rest of the way losing by decision.

Johnson beats the living shit out of Elkins in Round 1 ... immediately gets taken down to start Round 2, gives up his back and taps out like a little bitch

And Choi gets lit the fuck up in Round 2 and ref stops fight

Beautiful 0-3 to start off the new year
