Sorry about missing this Swoosh ... I was out of town and we only caught the co-main and main event.

I didn't have any interest in this card at a betting standpoint so left it alone all together. I figured JDS would win but wasn't going to risk heavy chalk on him vs. a guy with KO power that can land something big at any moment.

I might have a play a 2 for next week's London card ...

Lewisí camp said Derrick came in with torn meniscus, ACL & MCL from a month ago. He refused to pull from fight.

280 pound man with a torn meniscus and ACL doing flying switch kicks? and seemed real light on his feet ... I'm a little skeptical.

I like Derrick but it seems after every loss he has an excuse. Fighters and camps who disclose injuries AFTER a loss should not be praised.

Thoughts on Main / Co-Main

Edwards vs. Nelson ... striker vs. grappler match-up. This fight all depends where the action takes place. Edwards is the superior striker, Nelson has one of the best ground games in the UFC. Without a doubt if Gunnar is able to secure a dominant position on the mat, there is a high chance heíll finish Edwards. If Edwards is able to use his range and keep Nelson at bay stuffing takedowns while getting the opportunity to stand and bang, this is where he has the clear advantage. IMO a coin flip fight.

As for the Main Event, I believe this matchup is a lot closer than the line indicates. Both guys will be coming in hungry. Till is looking to get back into contention for another title shot after he fell short against Woodley. Masvidal returns following the longest layoff of his career and hasn't won in over two years. Masvidal's biggest problem is the size discrepancy. Till is basically a middleweight while Masvidal spent most of his career fighting at lightweight. The skill is similar but the size difference is pronounced, one of the main reasons the public is backing Darren.

Leading up to this fight I was leaning Masvidal at the generous underdog price but something tells me this very well could be a tactical bout that goes all the way to the cards, and if it goes in that direction the advantage favors Till. The Cuban has a tendency of taking his foot off the gas pedal the deeper a fight goes and 10 of his 13 career defeats have come by decision.

Another loss would severely harm the remnants of the hype built around Till by the promotion, but -230 is too steep for my liking. As much as I'd like to have action on this, a side play is pass for me.

Props and O/U have not been released yet ... I might look a little deeper into the over / Fight goes the distance

Will share thoughts on others after looking over a few more things ...

Negumereanu has rattled off 9 consecutive victories, all by stoppage, his past two wins have each come via submission. The problem is when you dig deep into his record itís clear heís been smashing bums. He has fought a total of three men with winning records. Other opponents include Yuri Gorbenko (12-4-1), Kovacs Kalman (2-15), and most recently Dan Konecke (10-13), who was on a four-fight losing streak.

Safarov likes to bite down on his mouthpiece and swing for the fences ... Tough as shit. He was undefeated before making his UFC debut but has had a tough time in his octagon run, suffering losses to Tyson Pedro and Gian Villante.

This one has all the makings to be destructive and sloppy. Gun to my head, Safarov ... Even winless in the UFC, he has 2 fights under his belt in the "Big League" and has faced somewhat decent opponents. Negumereanu is making his Octagon debut and IMO is just too untested and raw

Reyes / Oezdemir should be a good one ... Somebody is getting finished.

2 aggressive, powerful strikers that love to brawl. Oezdemir has more power but Reyes will have the speed advantage which should be the deciding factor. As long as Reyes keeps Oezdemir on the outside and avoids his power he should be able to find a path to victory mixing kicks and combinations.

No opinion whatsoever on Dan Ige vs. Danny Henry ... I don't see any real advantage on either side.

Same goes for Danny Roberts vs. Claudio Silva ... Total toss-up

All in all a tough card to handicap IMO. Trying hard to stay disciplined this year and just pick spots where I see value ... Not forcing just for action

Once again the over hits on a women's fight

10 out of 15 fights this year (over was -135)

Last year after 15 fights the over hit 12 out of 15 times
