Why I think Victor Ortiz will win by TKO over Mayweather?

Actually, I'm just kidding! I don't believe that Ortiz has a chance to win this fight (even if HBO keeps trying to make us believe that!). HBO (and some dreamers) seems to have many solid arguments why Ortiz will win, but most of them are easy to destroy. Let's have a quick look.

Ortiz is a Southpaw so Mayweather will struggle: Hum, yeah so was Zab Judah and Sharmba Mitchell. He won both fights and won by TKO over Mitchell.

Mayweather has been inactive for too long: It's not his first span without boxing. He only had 5 fights in 5 years, so he is used to inactivity. In those 5 years, 5 of his opponents (De La hoya, Marquez, Mozley, Hatton, Judah) combine for 224 total wins.

Ortiz can knock him out: So can Mayweather! Ortiz has a weak chin and visited the canva several times in his career (2 vs Berto and 2 vs Maidana)

Ortiz is younger: Bernard Hopkins vs Jean Pascal. ENough said!

Ortiz has been called the best prospect in 2008 by Ring Magazine: This is just a dumb argument

Ortiz is a brawler: Yes, and Mayweather destroys this kind of opponents. Ortiz doesn't have a solid jab and this is the only way you can try to control a fight with Mayweather. Heck, Ortiz doesn't even move the head. I see Mayweather dominating him.

Public action is on Ortiz: This is normal, because he has more value as the underdog (+500) and HBO does a great job to market this fight and make you believe he has a chance.

In conclusion, I think Mayweather will dominate this fight. Line is around -600 right now, but if it goes at -500, it could have some value, even though I hate laying that much juice. Hope you will all enjoy the fight!

Anyone has a real argument why Ortiz has a chance to win?

HBO signed Victor Ortiz to a 10 fight contract 2 years ago. That is why he is fighting in this fight and that is why HBO is hyping him up. His loss to Maidana was huge, if fact HBO considered dropping him from the contract. His win over Berto was impressive. They are hyping him up because when Floyd beats him he will still have some draw power to fight in the HBO Boxing After Dark series.

ortiz has power, pretty sure he has won all fights via KO and i think and could be wrong but didn't he drop all his over opponenets he lost to and drawed with? so i gues its safe to say he has power. ortiz lacks some skills ans defence so i do believe he loses but could mayweather be at that age decline now(34)? also ring rust maybe? and i have to think his footwork and hands have declined, it seems like he never puts combintions together anymore and and seems like he takes one or two steps when he throws those single punches, he doesn't even jab anymore. plus mosley really tagged him, i wasshocked he took that but when did he ever get tagged before? and mosley is old his power is long gone, if ortiz can catch him, catch him atleast once doesn't he win? another thing again could be wrong but i think mayweather's power at WW is almost no existing. also it appears there wearing grant gloves which offer heavier protection and puffyness over the fighters hands, i think we all know mayweather has fragile hands so this tells me he wants to protect his hands and go the distance as grant gloves give the same protect from first to 2000th punch as they are larger and offer better face protection aswell- plus its harder to make a solid fist, does he want to deter ortiz's power here? bottomline is we are gamblers, we need to find an edge and need to find value...there is value i feel in ortiz or the under as he can only win that way. mayweather is looking for a win of course but to me he is saying UDecision.

Floyd is a counter puncher, Ortiz is slow for 147, it will show on Saturday night. Under is a great play. Ortiz will get frustrated because of that. I think Floyd is going to bust him up pretty bad, I'm looking for a TKO.

Ortiz biggest mistake will be to attack Floyd. Ill put it this way, with a $40 millions dollar payday sitting out there for a fight with Pacquiao. Floyd isn't taking chances, all of his oppponents are hand picked for a reason.
