Exclamation CNN's Smerconish: Trump Could Be Most Consequential President in the Modern Era

by TRENT BAKER
23 Dec 2017

Saturday on his weekly CNN show, host Michael Smerconish argued that President Donald Trump could become “the most consequential president” of what he called the modern era.

“If the pace of change continues for the duration of Trump’s presidency, however long that might be, I think he could become the most consequential president in the modern era,” Smerconish stated. “Consequential meaning most important and significant, having the biggest overall impact.”

Wow someones getting rich but it's not the checker, stocker or wearhouse guy
They should pay more and give a bigger bonus.
8 OUT OF 10 products sold at wall-mart is made else where.
I worked on a campaign last year where they made a commitment to buying american and was told by the client it was mostly PR.

Fuck walmart and what they did to retail IE main Street America.

The rich are going to stay rich. They’re usually the ones that risked more, with name attachment, so their profitability will be a lot larger. Minimum wage workers risk nothing. They should be happy about this. Compare it to what’s happening in Canada, our liberal government just did the complete opposite of what you guys did; they put it into federal law that minimum wage went from $12/hour to $14 starting this year. So now companies, example Tim Horton’s, has to mandatorily pay all their employees this new wage, without raising their prices so not to lose clientele. So they fired a ton of people, workers lost most or all benefits and now don’t get paid breaks. In a few years minimum wage by law will be $17/hour. Guess how many small businesses and large corporations will be able to hold onto employees. If $14/hour is already getting thousands laid off, what will $17 do?

this actually fits the narrative.

ie: the only ones that will run these stores will be trudopes muslims, whereas we used to have in canada asian store owners from vietnam, korean ancestry, now we see the change over the last 25 yrs to pakistani/Indian asian ancestry. these too will feel the effects of the trudope era as the syrian and "other" muslim asian will probly soon become the new convenience store proprietors.(sp)

Walmart is a tillion dollar company i'm guessing paying someone 17 dollars an hour would barely put a dent in profits
Tim Hortons has a 40 percent profit margins and the stock is up over 50% this year.... so biz as usual. Trumps tax cut for big biz should increase profits across the board. It's doubtful the working person will see the benefits in the ways the bottom line will.

I like what Apple is doing , the new campus and 20k in US jobs is fantastic.
Yes, 2500 is crumbs, have you been to the grocery store, bought gas or shopped for just about everything these days? 2500 won't take you that far.

You can't blame rising costs on just Trump. Under Obama it was going up just as much percentage wise. It was going up under Clinton and Bush!! Politicians are the ones who are getting rich too!! 10 of the top 15 richest politicians are Democrats and 19 of the top 30 are Dems. Both sides of the isle are getting rich off of us!!!!

I defiantly don't blame trump And i agree both parties are compromised by greed.

Trump Presidential records for the first year!

Most Vacation days
Most rounds of golf
Least amount bills signed
Lowest approval rating after the first year in office.
Most cabinet firings/resignations
Most criminal indictments within staff after the first year.
No president in history has imposed larger personal lifestyle costs on the taxpayer than Donald

He's doing a hell of a job..

Who cares about how much golf he's playing? Look at the economy. I don't care how you slice it, people working, spending, and saving is good.

Getting Apple to repatriate their hoard of overseas cash alone is huge accomplishment. $38B in tax revenue and $245B to invest in their business. That's nearly their entire cash position, and more than the market cap of all but 7 or 8 US companies.

Yes the economy is moving along nicely Cap. I don't disagree.
I have my own feelings about the attack on the media and the potential for charges of collusion, perjury, obstruction of justice and or money laundering.
The shit going down with Trump isn't fake news but it is un-American, crooked and more than anything a disgrace to the office.
Are you guys going to freak out If or when he goes down or what?

Pres. Obama:
If the UK passes Brexit, they will go to the back of the queue."

Pres. Trump:
"The UK is welcome to go to the front of the queue."

His speech at the World Economic Forum was awesome.

Watch LIVE as President Trump addresses the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

I’d suggest watching and listening to the entire thing, whether you like him or not.

yeah T100, unfortunately they all lie.
I didn't vote for Hillary she's also a lying crook, I wouldn't even say I'm a democrat or a moralist.Actually I like what some of Trumps polices have done for the economy and parts of the tax bill work too... I can see the good.
But the twittering / the obvious lies (Todays Lie... He didn't try to fire muller)
and attacks on the Dept of Justice, the media and personally the reopening of off shore drilling on the coast of California pisses me off in a big way. i think Ryan and McConnell are informing policy more than Trump actually.
I don't know i just can't get behind Trump.
