In 1979, Pirates and Orioles actually played in the World Series. Now both teams couldn't be farther away from it.

And Seguin scoring just added insult to injury like a punch in the face. Nice. lol

37 goals in 79 games for Kessel since the trade, so for everyone to say that team that gave him up won the trade hands down, doesn't make much sense to me. It's fashionable for people to want to make this trade sound horribly lopsided, but the evidence to suggest that assertion is true has yet to present itself. Maple Leafs have a legitimate sniper, we know this, it's a fact, it's not a point of debate. Boston has some good prospects and another draft pick waiting. Whether too much was given up for Kessel is debatable, I am leaning towards yes, but one can't argue with what he has show so far here.

I don't think too many people around here care much about Tyler Seguin scoring yesterday, or think it is any great insult or embarassment.

On another note, Tim Thomas has been unreal in net so far this year, .980 save %. Nice to see him take back the starters job. I don't know if Rask is a legit #1 yet, his body of work isn't sufficient to make that suggestion. He failed four times to win a series-deciding game vs the Flyers and hasn't looked good in the limited action he has gotten so far this year. His career is very young, so let's see how he battles thru some adversity, which might be now.

Slam, ease up on the caffeine young fellow. I too don't think the trade has been decided as to who's a winner, all I said was Seguin scoring is a nice step on the throat of the Leafs who just got shutout, watched Kessel in frustration and then they had to watch Seguin score. For the night, that was a nice storyline for Boston and not so much for the Leafs. His scoring is not valid in the long run, but for last night, yes it was a bit of a stinger (or punch in the face) on a not so good night. And watch and listen to the media today, (not that i always agree with them) but they pointed it out as well, as storylines go, this was a bad one for Leafs...for last night.

I'm allright TSP!

Good for the kid that he scored. Seguin 1, Kessel 0 may look cute, but when people out there attempt to attach some great meaning or significance to it, it's a reach, so I don't get all the fuss and hysterics.

One thing I will say is that the Maple Leafs really need a creative centre who can generate some offense, and quickly, or they will spend the rest of the year barely scoring. Bozak and Grabbo are decent, but they should be slotted one line down, they way it is now they are playing out of place and aren't doing what they need to do. If they can somehow manage to get that top centre, then they will be left with a pretty good team, because the defensive play and goaltending are noticeably better compared to last year.

Back to Boston, when are Sturm and Savard coming back, and what are they going to do when that happens?

I agree, weak at centre, w/o question....and Bozak taking more nights off than can afford too. Bost may very well be the team that we deal with due to their cap issues. Either way, as much as many don't like Kaberle, I do, a puck handling defenceman who can calm the play and take control and is cerebral gets my vote, but my fear is he goes in whatever package is done.

future will tell, but it would be nice to get someone just using some dollars and a low level player which we have many of ...otherwise we lose one piece to get another. just my .02 on that.

They might win one series, but I wouldn't risk my money on it.

Best matchup for them would be the Habs; I see the Sabres or Rangers giving them a hard time and possibly taking them down.
