Connor McDavid

Excellent kid and excellent contract. At only 20 years old he is already the best player in hockey and he led the league in points and he was the MVP. He will soon be the highest paid player in hockey too

Good for him!

Crosby is still the best player in the league, but McDavid is 1A.

Your right the MVP determines the best player lol.

Crosby only just won his third Stanley Cup, second Conn Smythe in a row, won gold at the World Cup of Hockey in between those Stanley Cup seasons, played over 200 games during that time, averaged 1.18 PPG this season just behind McDavid's 1.21PPG, averaged 1.12PPG in the playoffs. Crosby is 6th ALL-TIME in PPG!!!!

I could go on and on about Crosby's career, but I'm sure that won't matter to you. McDavid is a generation talent and he is on his way to being the best, but he is NOT the best yet.

McDavid would of won MVP the yr. prior if he played full season and I'm taking that away from Kane. Who knows how may more this kid will pull out and will pass cindy in the rankings by the time he plays as many yrs., and I am by no means trying to make a case for the op. But anyone with a team they cheer for, would love to have this kid on there team. I'd love to see some new blood taking over the record books. Hockey is slowly climbing the rankings of these prima donas in other sports.

I would take Connor #1. Younger and only going to get better. He had more ppg, he won the MVP and he was 8th in the league in +/- compared to Crosby at 42. And he did it with a lot less talent around him.

Crosby #2
Kane #3

Connor will be better soon. I agree. Second best right now for me tho. But hey, can't go wrong with either!

I also prefer goal scorers when splitting hairs on elite players. Crosby is #1 in NHL. McDavid is a surprising #26.
(Matthews #2)

No offense to anyone, but I will take these two guys opinions over anyone's, just think they may know a tad bit more about hockey then anyone here. End discussion.

Well there are people who disagree. Many have opinions and they do not all agree

Connor McDavid is the Best Player in the NHL - The Hockey Writers

Connor McDavid is the Best Player in the NHL

Again, I Think A National TV Audience Saw Crosby Pass The Baton To McDavid As NHLís Best Player

Better question is, has Crosby lived up to the hype as "The Next One?" Serious question. I don't know the answer so I'll be looking for the hockey guys' response.

Two of the worst articles I've ever tried to read by Jordie and Marcy JoeBlow, Jordie's main reason for saying Conner is better than Sid is.......wait get this....drumroll please..............Crosby has never been on the front of a video game cover...... yep there you have it, discussion over close thread. Great posting

That is the great thing about opinions I guess. We all have them. I'll take the 20 year old freak who averaged more ppg. won the MVP, brought a shithole team back from dead and had a great +/-

Others take sid

from the little bit of hockey reading I do and talking to some puck heads, seems the consensus is mcdavid is on his way to becoming the best player in hockey and if he can stay generally healthy contend for 2nd best player ever.

can't put a lot of stock in to 1 mvp, anybody can have a fluke year. Miguel Tejada, Jimmy Rollins, etc. mcdavid and matthews are def next up and the future of nhl

crosby is great but you have to wonder what he could have done if he could have stayed fully healthy....
