Post Simon Gagne traded to Tampa

The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired Simon Gagne from the Philadelphia Flyers for Matt Walker and a fourth round pick in the 2011 NHL entry draft.
With Gagne, the Lightning now have an explosive top-six that also includes the likes of Vincent Lecavalier, Martin St. Louis, Steven Stamkos, and Steve Downie. Gagne is a point-per-game player, but he's been hampered in recent years by injury. However, with his contract expiring at the end of the 2010-11 season, the Tampa Bay Lightning are taking on a minimal amount of risk. Jul. 19 - 2:56 pm et

Now the dominos are starting to fall. Hopefully Gagne hasn't lost it yet, and he can stay on the ice for a full season.

nice move by tampa, gagne been struggling with his injuries past couple so they bought low here imo, and if he's healthy and productive for full season, well worth the cost. like it.

Good on paper, but Gagne is just a guy who will always miss a number of games. Kinda like the JD Drew of hockey, misses a lot of time, but when he is healthy is productive. Didnt give up much so it cant hurt.

Hey Boys,

I think this is a great deal for Tampa, they have nothing to lose & everything to gain. If he doesn't perform well, he is gone at the end of the year anyway as a free agent. IF he performs up to standards, they will make the playoffs & perhaps even make some noise.
