2009 Fantasy Football mock drafts?

Will be interesting to see what some of you guys think.

I'll start, assuming a 12 team league, snake draft, PPR league and pretty much standard-type scoring, nothing for return yards etc.

I'm not gonna lie, this is tough and I'm sure I'll have some disagreements, but I'm just doing this now, sort of making it up as I go along, but I'd have it something like this:

1 - Adrian Peterson
2 - Brian Westbrook (has to stay healthy all year for once and he'll be a solid #2 imo. Question marks for Philly at QB might be an issue too)
3 - Drew Brees (I'm sure people will say I'm crazy, but he will be a top 5 next year. the Yahoo! league I'm in has Brees outscoring the entire league with ease)
4 - Michael Turner
5 - LaDanian Tomlinson (some might say he's not a 1st rounder anymore, but I think he will be taken top 5 in most leagues)
6 - Peyton Manning (not getting any younger, he may fall to bottom 6)
7 - Tom Brady (question marks coming off the injury without a doubt)
8 - Frank Gore
9 - Marion Barber
10 - Clinton Portis
11 - Steven Jackson
12 - Philip Rivers

Other players I considered for 1st rounders: DeAngelo Williams (I think he'll split carries a little more next year), Matt Forte (I don't see him having quite as good a year and think he falls to 2nd round in most leagues), Thomas Jones (solid offensive line, but not getting any younger), Larry Fitzgerald (the piss-poor ending to the Cards season combined with Warner's age and possibilities of Lienart playing make this a HUGE question mark), Anquan Boldin (same as Fitz), Andre Johnson (very hit or miss with this guy, but he is emerging as a top 3 fantasy WR when consistent)

Like I said, I pretty much just slapped this together right now so I'm sure there are a few things that look dumb in this, but how would you guys do it?

Ive never done a PPR league, but at first glance, my first reaction was how could you not have at least 1 WR in the 1st round? Turner would have to be #2 after AP based on his peformance this year.

you know i typed PPR, but as I did it, I had the scoring from each of my 2 leagues in mind lol, neither being a PPR league

one league was weird, 70+ rushing yards in order to get your first 3 points, and TDs were based on how long they were as far as points for each

then the Yahoo! league was a point per 10 rushing/receiving yards, no points for receptions, and 6 points per TD no matter if it was a 1 yard or 99 yard.

I think it's tough to have a WR in the first round even when it is a PPR league because so much depends not only on their own health, but their QB's too as I learned this year with Moss AND Owens

Would definitely say Thomas Jones in the top 10 next year. Those fantasy mags will all have a hard on for him next year and that will mean the avg fantasy player will too, too many TDs this year to slip to round 2. Agree also that next year will be the year more of an emphasis will be put on the QB position, numbers have been absolutely sick the past few years and you will see a de-emphasis of the RB pos in favor of this. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Slaton a top 20 pick, a young RB that doesn't split time(even though as Williams or the Tenn duo have proven splitting time ain't what it used to be)

I think if this season taught us anything it's that the old theory of never draft a qb in the first round can still be pretty valid.

I think I might just retire after this season anyway so wtf do i know lol

1. AP
2. Turner
3. Westbrook
4. Brees
5. Chris Johnson
6. Portis
7. Jacobs
8. P Manning
9. LT
10. Gore
11. Barber
12. Either Fitz, Boldin, or Deangelo Combo

I think Chris Johnson has to be considered a top 5 pick for next year hes proven he can carry the load. And I think Lendale will see less time next year as Johnson will be more experienced. Id like to put Brady in there but I just dont know whats gonna happen with the knee.

first receiver taken should be CALVIN JOHNSON?

so you take a receiver on an 0-15 team with NO quarterback to speak of and you're laughing at me? 69 catches to Andre Johnson's 105? ahead of fitz or boldin (boldin more TDs despite missing 3 games?)

gl man, like i said, just threw the list together without really thinking too in depth

and rivers currently the 2nd leading scorer in fantasy on yahoo, but laugh away

I'll wait until the offseason before anointing my top 10 in a draft. Wanna see where Cassel goes and if Favre actually retires. May affect my decisions a bit.
