2nd pick in 14 man league

I am in a PPR league with WR getting a half point more per reception and 1 pt more per carry than RB. I have been debating on taking McCoy with the 2nd pick considering the 78 receptions he had last year. Rb get .5 per carry and 1 per reception and standard yardage. WR get 1.5 per reception and carry and standard yardage. Qb get .5 per completion 1 per 15 yards. All TDs are 6 pts.

Based on this point system I have been debating Charles, Johnson, Foster and McCoy. Who would you take?

under that scoring system, I think you are looking for not just an RB that gets a lot of receptions, but carries as well. If we eliminate Chris Johnson from consideration due to his holdout, I would rank the remaining three: Foster, McCoy, Charles. One will be gone with the first pick. All three are close however (in my opinion).

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

I have been thinking that with one twist. Can Foster make through another season with the same amount of workload he had last year. This reminds me of Turner when he went to ATL in his first full season as a starter and got hurt a few times the next season. Kinda makes me gun shy on Foster.

Understood Burgh. With that scoring system, it is a tough call to make.

With that system, you may want to consider Ray Rice also. He gets a ton of receptions and carries, and with Willis gone and Leach leading the way, he will see goal-line carries too.

I kinda agree with this. I think he'll have a let down year, but will be a top pick. He already has a bad hammy.

If you take McCoy, you might pull your hair out. While he has the talent to put up great numbers, he's playing with a running QB and a head coach who will NOT run the ball. In addition, I can see Ronnie Brown taking carries away from him.

Like Keith said, I love Ray Rice. A down year last year from the previous year, but he has more of a chance than McCoy to run and score. But you have to remain patient with him.

GL this year.

Thx walk. Been discussing this with myself over and over again. If anything Rice has a great playoff schedule. Browns, Jax and Indy. With Mcgahee gone no more TD vulture though have to stomach the two games against Pitt though he hasnt done horrible against them.

I can't see picking anyone other than Chris Johnson in that spot. Yes, the Titans will be bad this year, but that guy is a horse. I'd go Ray Rice as #3 and Jamaal Charles as #4 with Foster being #5.

I think Foster will lose goal line work to a healthy Ben Tate, and Steve Slaton can still slice his workload some. Foster has had 1 good year, while Johnson has had many, ditto with Rice.

I even like Charles better than Foster in that format due to his likely increase in workload from last year, and his sick YPC. He's proven he can gain yards even when splitting time 50/50. This year he should be used much more.

the problem with CJ is the holdout. He seems willing to sit. And even if he cuts a deal right before the season started, how many times have we seen that player then get hurt (because they haven't been practicing). If it gets towards the end of the preseason and it is still not resolved, I don't see how you can use the # 2 pick on CJ.

Now Ricky Williams might take some TD's away from Rice. Although Rice will still get you Rep points.

This is a year in which I really didn't want a top 3 pick. I was making a joke that I would take a top 6 receiver and stay away from rbs and told another guy Rodgers was my guy. I am wondering if Ronnie Brown, Thomas Jones and Ricky Williams have lost enough tread that they won't be a factor. If that is the case then I would have to rank them Rice, Charles then McCoy. I am dropping McCoy as I think Vick takes away some TD's

I miss the years off workhorse rb's none of this two headed backfield. That being said, there are three situations I am monitoring for later round picks; Shonn Greene in NY, Lynch in Sea and Harrison in Det. I also want to see how the rookie Thomas does in Mia.

First week of preseason games no significant injuries and still no clear cut number pick though johnson situation might change and could alter my thinking at number 2.

have my draft on Saturday and have narrowed down my pick to either rice or charles. The passing catching I have seen from Rice has made me consider him but his running to this point hasn't impressed. Maybe leaning to Charles even though he will probably end up with less catches than Rice.

Rice looked good the other night AND got the goal-line carries. Chiefs are going to be a lousy team this year (with a tough schedule too). At this point, I'd grab Rice. GL
