Draft Day Is Approaching !!

curious if most of you guys do a live draft, or do you do it on-line ?

My league has an in person draft, on Labor Day night. We have the back room in a local Italian restaurant. Great time. Best night of the season--everyone walks out of there believing they are going to the playoffs.

I can't wait.

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

oh man. I've pretty much eliminated: SJax, Fitzy, DWill or Chris Johnson. I like Slaton (and I STILL think he does better than LT), but I'm not so sure I take him at # 5.

I have been toying with the idea of either Brady or Brees at # 5. A little early for sure, but they'll both be gone when I pick again at # 20. We get 6 points for passing TDs, and I really think I can still grab a top RB at # 20 (R. Brown or Portis--one of them will be there).

I'll only change my mind another dozen times between now and my draft. LOL

nice. Live drafts are the deal. Private room in a restaurant is the way to go be

In a keeper league since 2003...we draft only rookies every year, except for the first draft we had in '03...and we usually rotate who's house we go to on labor day weekend to do the draft...
this year I have the 9th pick...

I would prob go top flight RB....

Looking at projections for Brees, Brady, Manning, Rivers the difference/game is 2 pts between the top and bottom (Brees & Rivers)

Honestly im eyeing Rivers in rd 3 i have a top 5 pick...80% of the time he should be there

after last night's showing, I'd be surprised if Brady even makes it to me at # 5 in my draft.

I think in your spot the dif between QBs Brees,Brady,Manningg, Rivers is 2 ppg

RBs is probably closer to 5-6 ppg difference

Here's why I disagree. By the time I pick in the 2nd round (at pick # 20), Brady and Brees are for sure gone, and likely Manning too. Rivers is NOT going to be only 2 points less than either Brady or Brees. But let's say he is 4 points less than them. I would have to take him at pick # 20, cause when I pick again in the 3rd round (pick # 29), Rodgers and Rivers will be gone. The up-side of this is that when I pick at # 20, I am looking at Ronnie Brown, and at # 29, either Colston or Pierre Thomas. I think the difference between Ronnie Brown and any RB I could choose at # 5, will be that same 4 points per game (if not less).

well i disagree with your take on Rivers... He killed it last year (2nd in FF) and i dont expect him to drop off that much if any at all.
