At present, we keep one, but may elect to do 2.

Here is how our's works.

Can NOT keep anyone drafted in the first 3 rounds.

If one has a keeper, he must give up a draft pick, which is determined by the pick originally used for that player. i.e. if the player was selected originally in the 6th round, a 4th round pick is lost. So, sacrifice is 2 slots above

The MAX a player can be kept is 3 seasons

The real rewards are getting top players deep in the draft, or even as free agents.

I got Rice in round 6 last season and if we go to 2 keepers, I have Knox, as a FA and will give up a late round pick.

i've always seen 2....keep 2 and the draft basically starts in rd 3, order of the draft depends on how last season's teams finished, champ drafts last etc

3 might be too many...could end up in a dynasty situation, which is good for the guy who's got 3 first rounders lol but maybe not for the rest of the league

We give our players a 4 year contract when they are drafted and they are assigned a point value based on where they are drafted. 1st round is 6 pts, 2nd round is 5 points, 3rd round is 4 points, 4th and 5th rounds are 3 points, 6th-9th are 2 points and remainder are 1 points. Each year a team is allowed to keep up to 15 points. If a player is traded, his contract goes with him. So every 4 years, the player must go back into the draft. We have found this system to be very good and rewards teams who can find sleeper picks in the late rounds at either 1 or 2 points. This allows you to keep more players on your team if you can find these sleepers...
