Main FFT

1/2 pt PPR.....everything else standard with 6/pts Pass TDs

Picked from the 7 hole, 12 team league.

QB1 Vick-1

RB1 McFadden-2
RB2 Forte-3

WR1 Harvin-5
WR2 Maclin-6

TE V Davis-7

FLEX Best-4

K Alex Henery-15

D1 Bears-8
D2 Chargers-9

Bench

QB Flacco-10

RB Starks-8
RB J Ringer-13
RB Helu-14
RB Hardesty-15

WR L Moore-11

Had an extra 8th rounder for trading out of the 3 slot to the 7....cost a 12th rounder to get it done. Got Vick 7 anyways and from there just kinda went with what fell as I didnt expect McFadden to be there or Forte in the 3rd round.

Dig Best as a FLEX but that left slim pickings at WR with all the main guys gone. I like Harvin with the 1/2 PPR.

I know picking defenses early is frowned upon but its imperative in this league to have a great defense or more than 1 good one to take advantage of the matchups.

Vernon Davis in the 7th and Flacco in the 10th were value picks as neither were expected to be there and picking up backups like Ringer and Hardesty helps in trading because trades in this league go down like crazy.

I think all 3 RBs can catch 60 passes so maybe that helps out some of the strain with the lack of depth at WR.

Really wanted Vick because in fantasy football, unlike baseball, one guy can win 4-5 games all by himself most weeks.

Thoughts?

PEACE

WR is a little weak and you loaded up on RB's if one of the bench guys does well i.e. helu or ringer could sit pretty and flip them for a good WR. Would have added another bench WR though. Not a heavy running lineup but the .5 ppr we give the RBs value.

I like it Ron. If Maclin comes back strong your team will do some damage.

Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

QB: Michael Vick, Joe Flacco
RB: Darren McFadden, Matt Forte, Jahvid Best, James Starks, Roy Helu, Montario Hardesty, Javon Ringer
WR: Percy Harvin, Jeremy Maclin, Lance Moore
TE: Vernon Davis
PK: Alex Henery
TD: San Diego Chargers, Chicago Bears
Overview:

We think you're looking good at quarterback and running back, and tight end is a plus for this team as well. Your squad is therefore easy for us to like despite a bit of weakness at the receiver position. But as weaknesses go, this is one is survivable. It's usually relatively easy to find fill-in guys on a weekly basis until a better player emerges during the season. As long as you stay on top of things inseason, you should be among the top teams in the league.

Players we particularly like on this team include Vernon Davis, Matt Forte, Joe Flacco, Jahvid Best, James Starks, and Alex Henery. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.

Bottom line:
With great inseason management, we think you have about a 75 percent chance of making the playoffs.
With good inseason management, we think you have about a 60 percent chance of making the playoffs.
With average inseason management, we think you have a 46 percent chance of making the playoffs.
In any event, we wish you the best of luck. Here's hoping all your weeks are like week 3 of 2010:

Lance Moore vs. ATL: 149 receiving yards, 2 TD
Michael Vick vs. JAX: 291 passing yards, 4 TD
Jeremy Maclin vs. JAX: 83 receiving yards, 2 TD
Darren McFadden vs. ARI: 122 combined yards, 1 TD
QB Summary:

You don't need us to tell you this, but we'll tell you anyway: Michael Vick should ensure that your production at the quarterback position is among the best in the league. We have him as the #3 QB according to your scoring rules, and we figure he gives you about a 1.9 point-per-game advantage over an average starting QB.

Joe Flacco, who we have rated as the #14 QB, is a fine backup.

Incidentally, Flacco has what we project as a neutral matchup (JAX) during Vick's bye.

A quick note about the Vick/Jeremy Maclin hookup you've got here: while we think the effect of the quarterback/receiver hookup has largely been exaggerated in fantasy football circles, it does have a tendency to make your team somewhat more inconsistent than comparable scoring duos from different NFL teams. But if you like the players at both ends of the connection, we do not see any need to make a change because of it.

RB Summary:

Your starting running back group is a strength, particularly Matt Forte as a second running back. Our projections have Darren McFadden ranked at #10 and Forte ranked 12th.

Your bench also looks good. We love Jahvid Best as a third running back; he's a likely flex starter. James Starks should also be solidly above average at RB4.

Since you're strong at the position, you probably don't absolutely need to roster more than four players here. Of your remaining guys, we like Roy Helu the best, but you should keep the one you think has the best chance of putting up starter numbers. The rest might be considered expendable if you find you need roster space elsewhere.

Note that the above "thoughts" were generated by David Dodds's projections. Others have different takes:

Some of our staffers have Darren McFadden as high as #6, which would make him an above average first running back. Jason Wood's take: "Last year Darren McFadden reminded us that we shouldn't write off talent simply because it doesn't manifest itself immediately. McFadden had two forgettable seasons and seemed destined a part-time committee role, but instead Run DMC finally showed the versatility and explosiveness we knew he possessed. 5.2 yards per carry, 1,664 yards from scrimmage and 10 TDs on route to a 6th place finish. With Hue Jackson at the helm, McFadden is a good bet to continue to deliver fantasy starter numbers in 2011."

WR Summary:

We see both your starters at receiver as below average. Percy Harvin is our 23rd ranked WR, and we have Jeremy Maclin at #30.

Lance Moore should be a good third receiver.

We might suggest adding a bit more depth here. See the end of the report for some suggestions on who to pick up.

Note that the above "thoughts" were generated by David Dodds's projections. Others have different takes:

Some members of our staff have Percy Harvin ranked as high as 11th, which would make him a fine first receiver. Jason Wood defends his high ranking as follows: "Harvin has been a headache (pun intended) for fantasy owners. His migraines have led to his starting only 21 starts in two seasons (29 games played) and it's been tough to know sometimes whether he should be in your lineup. On pure talent, he's delivered, and has managed 25th and 20th ranked fantasy seasons in spite of his issues. Harvin is more of a RB playing receiver, which is why you can also count on 100+ rushing yards on top of a solid amount of receptions and TD grabs. With Donovan McNabb in Minnesota, and Michael Jenkins appearing to be the WR2, you can be sure Harvin will be targeted early and often."

Lance Moore is ranked #28 by some of our writers, which would make him an above average third receiver. Jason Wood reasons, "Reggie Bush is gone, and Lance Moore was re-signed. That means Moore will have every opportunity to catch 70+ receptions and 7+ TDs in a full time role, primarily working out of the slot."

TE Summary:

Vernon Davis should be above average as a starting tight end. We have him ranked fourth overall at the position. Given your league rules and the presence of Davis, your decision to roll with just one tight end is a reasonable one.

Kicker Summary:

With Alex Henery, you should be above average at the position.

Defense Summary:

The Chargers are probably not a difference-maker at defense, but they should be OK.

I did that in leagues with big benches but in this league if Vick gets hurt I would rather roll with Flacco or attempt to get him off waivers......there just isnt the bench room here.

Prolly gonna throw Ringer off the team this week to try and find a better WR to add into the mix. Still high on Maclin/Harvin/Moore but a slow start is looking like a multiweek thing at this point.
