Rate my first draft

You never know what these clowns in my league will do, but I think I did ok. I had the 3rd pick overall in a .5 PPR league.

1. Ray Rice- Solid player, but lacks the TD's. MJD knee scared me.
2. Calvin Johnson- Will improve this season, but just how much?
3. Romo- A run on QB's and thought I'd go after him early.
4. Gates- Had to reach and get the best TE.
5. Addai- Nothing was left at this point and I believe D Brown can't take this yet.
6. Johnny Knox- Should do well in Martz offense.
7. Spiller- Looked impressive and has the chance to be solid.
8. Breaston- Eh nothing left at this point and figured Anderson will find him.
9. Michael Bush- Should be a decent back if he stays healthy.
10. Massaquoi- Who else is going to catch the ball down 30 pts a game?
11. Sidney Rice- Thought it was a good value pick at this point.
12. Henne- Decent backup that should improve with Marshall.
13. SF D- Solid defense
14. B LaFell- Maybe a sleeper if he gets the #2 spot
15. Prater- Decent kicker.

So what do you guys think? I really don't like having Addai as my 2nd back and Knox and Breaston are nothing to write home about. They have potential, so we'll see. I think I did good in the later rounds though.

12 teams. I agree with Knox, but seriously the top 25 WR were gone.

True, but Martz might work his magic. There was no WR at this point in the draft.

After round 8, they is slim pickings and I think I did well. Henne as a backup and the time I need him, he is home against the Pats. Rice, if he comes back fine in week 9 or so, that was a steal. 49ers defense will be great in a terrible division.

I'd lean more towards a B.

Give it a B- although Gates is obviously a top 2 or 3 TE there is alot of depth this year at TE

Fell apart after round 3. Didnt need to reach for Gates, could have got equal value with more upside later in a guy like Finley. Also think depending on your scoring settings could have waited on QB and went WR again, very shallow position compared to qb. Obviously your WR2 looks very weak, probably end up being your downfall. LOVE the Michael Bush pick, will end up being your RB2 for majority of the year I believe, and thinks he gives you the oppurtunity to move another RB for a WR2 upgrade. Id give it a C-, do think Knox could be a wildcard for your team though, but would look to move Addai or Spiller for another WR2 option maybe a guy like Malcolm Floyd, Mike Wallace, or maybe even Berrian and another player, kind of a handcuff if Rice doesnt comeback at full strength or at all. Best of luck

You lost when you went Romo/Gates.

1 decent WR, 1 decent RB. Team is flat out terrible and trying to justify evey pick is laughable. You reached for a TE and didn't even get the best one. Your best pick was Spiller.

I love how everyone is against the Gates pick. Towards the end of the 4th round I get a top TE in the game. I don't care what people say, he's better than most WR at this point in the draft. Why should I take a Driver or Meachum or Sims-Walker over Gates? Gates stats would be 9th if he was a WR.

LOL at Mac. Romo only threw for the 3rd most yards last year and now has a better wideout in Bryant. Gates a top TE. Please son.
