So, What Do You Guys Think About......

LT this year ?

Please do NOT turn this into a Chargers debate thread !!!

Seriously though. As he hits 30 and come off 2 years in a row with injuries, is he on the decline ? Or is he still a fantasy beast with something to prove--and a coach who historically likes to run the ball ??

Pros--even in his off year you get 1100 yards and double-digit TDs. We KNOW he will get all the goal-line opportunities. A better Chargers "D" should also lead to more running and less passing later in games.

Cons--in addition to the age (and mileage on his tires), he has a tough schedule. Plus the Chargers are paying his BACK-UP (Sproles) almost twice as much as they are paying LT this year.

And if you do like LT this year, how high do you draft him ?? Do you take him before guys like Steven Jackson ?? Chris Johnson ?? or DeAngelo Williams ??

In other words--if Peterson, MJD, Turner and Forte go #s 1-4 in your draft, do you take LT at # 5 ??

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

last big year for him

1400 yards and 15 TD's

better value picking him in 2nd round, #5 is too high.

His current ADP is 7. He won't make into the second round of any 12 team draft.

1400 yards and 15 TDs is, in my mind, more than you'd get from either SJax or Chris Johnson. I would sign up for that right now.

yes it would be better value getting him in 2nd round.

let me know what league he'll still be avail then, and I'll post up.

IMO he's the #5 draft pick, in most fantasy formats..

do you agree Up that Peterson, MJD, Turner and Forte likely go #'s 1-4 ??

Plenty of time 'til my draft (LOL--7 weeks) but the idea of LT at # 5 is intruiging. Even his SHITTY year is 1100 yards and 10+ TDs. Norv threw alot last year because LT was hobbled and the defense sucked. But we all know Norv likes to run....run...run....

and the defense should be better and they shouldnt be coming from behind as much. this team has alot of talent and if they play like they are capable, in a week division no less, LT should have a good season.

Like you said, as long as he stays healthy even a bad season will give you good production. He's gonna get his TDs for sure.

I do agree with your top 4, although maybe not in that order.

And the only guy I would think about putting in front of LT would be Jackson, I personally don't think C Johnson is going to have the success he did last season, as I don't think Tenn will have the success they did.

SJax would be my likely other choice at # 5. He scares me though. Not so much because of the injuries--although you can't overlook that. Rams improved their offensive line (went from pathetic to just lousy) and Spags will improve the defense for sure. BUT, Bulger scares no one any more, and their receiving corps is weak (to say the least). SJax is gonna see alot of 8 and 9 man fronts. I think he does OK this year, but I'm just not certain he does better than LT.

I cant take him 5th as I am sure your scouting your pick at this slot. I do like Lt to improve vastly from last yr but not enough to take him higher than the end of the 1st rd. This will be an unpopular choice but I think Gore is a really good pick here. Defense minded head coach=ball control, Coffee as a backup should help keep him fresh, full season with Hill at the helm so increase his catches out of the backfield and maybe just maybe pull that extra defender out of the box. I picture him being a Westbrook numbers back this year but playing in all 16 games. SJax too many questions in st louey, Deangelo reminds me of the Chicago situation when they drafted Benson, LT better numbers but think they groom Sproles to take over more carries to keep LT healthy. Too high to take Brees or Brady along with Larry Franchise.

They dont get better at his age and stage in his career

Looking at injury plagued 1000 yards, under 10 tds

I don't like Gore (especially at # 5). SF is not very good at all. They got extremely lucky second half of last year and I think they return to mediocrity this year. Shitty team. Same situation as the Rams--only SJax is probably a more complete back.

I still think LT is a quality back, but the key with drafting LT this year is you MUST handcuff him with Sproles. In past years, having LT by himself was good enough because he was so durable, but now you absolutely must get Sproles at some point also if you take LT with your 1st pick. Otherwise its a risky pick...

so who you go with at # 5 then ? After the big 4 RBs (AP, Turner, MJD and Forte), there are question marks about everyone in the next group (SJax, Chris Johnson, De Williams, LT).

I kind of dig Slaton, but 5 may be too early for him.
