Start Gates?

Is Gates good to go this week? I have a decent back up in LJ Smith matching up against a horrible Rams defense. Im unsure how ready he is until I see him in a game.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

Just was questioning his health. If he starts I definitely play him. Dont want to get bit in the ass if he is a late scratch, Philly plays in the morning.

nevermind, just found this at espn:
Player News (last updated: September 5, 2008)
News: Contrary to previous reports, Gates (toe) will start Sunday against the Panthers, Chargers.com reports.
Spin: Apparently Gates was misquoted by the San Diego Union-Tribune yesterday when it was reported that he said he would not be starting the game. At the time we thought it was a bit of a shock, but now that we've seen the video, we are feeling a lot better about his status for this week. He is definitely not 100 percent, but if he's good enough to be in the starting lineup, he's probably good enough to be active in all leagues unless you have a really, really good alternative.

Yah...good news for you. Although I like Philly this week. St Louis D is not a total spleunking that you might think it is. They have good, speedy ends and quick LBs...and knowing McNabb's starting WRs are out...they might be blazing in on blitzes that will cause Philly to keep Smith in to cover QB until the rooks prove themselves.
