i have first pick on waivers this week... which one do you like, this week and beyond.. i realize it depends a lot on how bad mccoys rib is (which i haven't heard anything new on), but i have to make a claim today

Portis out at least 6 weeks, and possibly done.

The Washington Post suggests that Clinton Portis "has played his last game" for the Redskins.
Portis' recovery from a separated groin will be no easy task, and first-year Redskins coach Mike Shanahan is pursuing a "roster overhaul" that includes replacing declining veterans with younger players in at least some cases. Said Shanahan Wednesday of Ryan Torain, "He’s a top back in the National Football League. There’s no question about it." Portis is a good bet to end up on injured reserve. He won't see a dime of his $8.254 million salary in 2011. Oct. 6 - 5:30 pm et
