Who would of thought this would happen...

I know there are still 2 games tonight, but through yesterdays games here is a list of the top scorers at each position in 1 of my leagues(which is a basic scoring league for most part with .5 pts per reception)

QB...Cam Newton 33.68 points

RB...Mike Tolbert 31.80 points

WR...Steve Smith 35.80 points

TE...Scott Chandler(WHO?) 20.80

K...David Akers 15 points

DEF...SF 49ers 20 points

I don't know about anyone else, but I never gave any of these players a thought as far as starters on any of my teams, or even drafting as backups...

I know some were high on Newton, but doubt anyone expected that kind of fantasy performance in his 1st outing.

Looks like another crazy year in fantasy football...

mike tolbert killed me this week

david akers does not surprise me though ... any kicker, any week, can score big. he is a solid kicker in this league.

the rest, i agree with

SF does not surprise me at all this week. If you have a solid defense and you play a horribly qb's team you can put up fantasy points. SF did it on special teams, but the Seattle offense is horrid!

That'll be the ceiling for Newton this year. Keep in mind that the Cards traded away their #1 CB, had their #2 CB go down with a season ending injury in preseason and started a rookie at one CB. In addition, Adrian Wilson was hurt, and he plays the pass like a blind person anyway.

We'll see the real Newton this week versus the Packers. I think the love for him is overdone based on one performance.

Tolbert's a decent back, but that's his ceiling too. As far as the 49ers D/ST, trade 'em now cause they won't ever repeat that performance.

Hows this for a bad beat. Up 32 points and my opponent had Welker and Moreno. Moreno gets shut down but that 99 yarder killed me.
