Would this be wrong to do or actually a smart move?

Ive never been in a situation like this that I can remember so thought Id ask. I will mention this involves my team in one of the Cappermall reward points league. I right now lead my opponent by 3 points and his team is done. I still have my defense left which with the way scoring rules are, could get negative points. My opponents def got him minus 2 yesterday. It is GB def, so the odds are slim but still possible. My question is do I simply drop my defense and not play one to ensure my victory? There is no rule that I know of that states I have to fill the position, so would this be simply a very smart move? But I don't want to do something some might think as unethical by not playing my full team.

it may give you an illegal roster. i think you have to fill all the positions. but it's only rewards pts, probably not worth all the trouble anyways

LOL, I know it wouldn't. But you know me, I always play by the rules and don't want to do anything that some might think is unethical. Im just curious what others would do or if they thought it was wrong to bench my D in this case...

Thats what I thought, but it allowed me to do it. So, I assume its not against the rules to not field a spot if you wanted to.

New signup, so not involved in any CM leagues, but I'd do it. May be just for reward points, but everyone still hates to lose. But, I'd also doubt GB def would go in the negative against Ponder.

but by dropping GB, someone else will claim them. i think the risk is worth keeping GB on your team. how many pts did GB Def get the first time they played minny when they gave up 27?
