Sometimes, you'll hear about all of these MLB handicappers that sit there and plug all of these numbers into their "systems," and you wonder what in the heck they're talking about! Don't worry, you're certainly not alone. Each baseball betting system is different, and there are many that produce a winning formula, though quite often, you will see two great systems on opposite sides of a baseball betting showdown. Make sure you research your baseball betting strategies before betting on any baseball system.
Many baseball betting systems start with the starting pitcher. This is the most important man on the team that you are betting on or against, as he is likely to have the most impact on the game one way or the other. Many baseball betting systems will plug in all of the numbers for the pitcher, such as his strikeouts, his walks, his ERA, and other basic stats that you can easily find on any baseball based website, such as Yahoo!, ESPN, CBS Sports, etc.
One of the more popular baseball system in the MLB forums has been the MLB Home System.
Though a lot of baseball betting systems are simply based off of that, that doesn't mean that these are the only factors that could be in a great system. Home field advantage is always a factor that is underappreciated in MLB betting. It is a proven fact that players just play better at home in general than they do on the road.
Don't forget about factors like a bullpen. Does the team have a closer that you can rely on to shut down the opposition with that 3-2 lead in the 9th? Good baseball betting systems will account for a bullpen's ERA, its strikeouts, and/or several other key stats.
Finally, you have your nine batters. Lineup cards often aren't available until a half hour or so before the game, which makes things difficult at times. But systems often take batting averages, home runs, RBIs, etc. and plug those numbers in as well.
We couldn't possibly tell you everything that you need to know about baseball betting systems, as there is no such thing as the perfect system. Keep developing yours and working on it, and soon enough, you'll become a baseball betting expert!
