The MLB regular season is winding down without much drama from normal pennant races.
In the American League East, the Yankees have a 2.5 lead over the Red Sox but the second place team will represent the AL as the wildcard. The betting odds at Bodog has Boston favored to win the AL Pennant at 5/4 with New York sitting at 9/4. Bodog has The Red Sox as 10/3 odds to win the World Series with the Yankees odds available at 4/1. Tampa is 7 games back in the wildcard standings with long shot odds of 80/1 to win the ALCS and 150/1 to win the World Series. The American League Central was a race for a while but the Detroit Tigers are starting to run away with the division with a current 7.5 lead over Cleveland and 8.5 lead over the Chicago White Sox. Bodog has the Tigers as 7/1 and 14/1 to win the American League and World Series respectively. Both Cleveland and Chicago are 50/1 odds to win the AL Pennant and 100/1 to win the Series.
The closest race in baseball is the American League West where the Texas Rangers have a 3 game lead over the Angels. The Angels are 8 games back in the wild card race. Texas is 9/2 odds to take home the American League Pennant and go to the World Series for the second year with 9/1 odds to win it all.
In the National League everything is about settled. The Phillies have a 7.5 game lead in the NL East over the Braves and are favored to win both the National League Pennant (10/13) and World Series (2/1). The Braves have a comfortable 8 game lead in the wildcard standings and are 9/2 and 9/1 to win the NL and World Series.
In the Central, it's been the Milwaukee Brewers who have a big 10.5 game lead over the Cardinals. Milwaukee is 7/2 odds to win the NL and a nice 13/2 odds to take home the 2011 World Series.
And finally in the NL West, Kirk Gibson has his Diamondbacks now running away from the Giants with a current 7 game lead. Arizona is 15/2 odds to win the NL at Bodog and 18/1 to win the World Series.
