Schilling to undergo season ending surgery

Curt Schilling told WEEI-AM in an interview this morning that he is will undergo season ending surgery Monday according to the Associated Press.

Schilling has been on the DL for the entire season after re-signing with the Red Sox for another year. Schilling has pitched 20 years in baseball for the Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Phillies, Astros and Orioles.

There is speculation that Schilling has pitched his last game. He would finish with a 216-146 record.

Schilling has become a controversial figure over the last few years, calling out Barry Bonds and recently Kobe Bryant. He speaks to his fans through his website blog, 38pitches.com
