With two weeks left of the NFL regular season, teams are starting to separate as we learn the contenders from the pretenders. The oddsmakers have updated the NFL future odds on who will win Super Bowl XLVI.
The Green Bay Packers who suffered their first loss of the season are still heavy favorites at +130 odds followed by the New England Patriots +335 who are coming off the thrashing of Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. New Orleans are third at +455 and many believe the Saints are playing as well as anyone. The one quarterback who could match Aaron Rodgers and the Packers could be Drew Brees and the Saints, who is making a serious run of breaking Dan Marino's all-time record for passing yards in a season.
The next two teams come from the AFC North. Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens have potential to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl and both are +875 to win the Super Bowl.
The betting experts have the San Francisco 49ers penciled in next at +1225. The 49ers are still alive for a bye week and a playoff game at home. The Dallas Cowboys have the next best shot at +1625. Currently Dallas is in first place in the NFC East and Tony Romo is playing as well as anyone.
The rest of the NFL appear to be long shots with the Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons next at +2425. Both the Giants +4250 and Philadelphia Eagles +4850 could still win the NFC East and it says a lot that the books have the San Diego Chargers at +2275 and the Tim Tebow led Denver Broncos at +4250.
