Last week’s picks went 8-5 ATS, 1-2 in Best Bets. The year-to-date record is 97-95-7ATS overall and 19-15-2 ATS in Best Bets.
This week’s top picks are the Giants, Jets and Baltimore

Jacksonville (+12)at Atlanta - Thursday
Jacksonville (4-9 SU, 5-7-1 ATS) scored 41 points against Tampa Bay last week, more than its last three games combined. Atlanta (8-5 SU, 5-7-1 ATS) showed moxie in coming back at Carolina and are overdue for a home blowout.
Dallas(-6 ½)atTampa Bay - Saturday
Dallas (7-6 SU, 4-8-1 ATS) blew last week’s game versus the Giants and needs to refocus quickly this week. Tampa Bay (4-9 SU and ATS) is freefalling at 0-7 SU and 1-6 ATS in its last seven games and coachRaheem Morris is on a very hot seat.
Pick: Dallas (-6 ½)
Carolina (4-9 SU, 7-6 ATS) has won its last two road games, albeit against woeful Tampa Bay and Indianapolis. Houston (10-3 SU, 9-3-1 ATS) quarterback T.J. Yates has been a pleasant surprise, but receiver Andre Johnson is doubtful.
Pick:Carolina (+6 ½)
Washington (+6 ½) at NY Giants
Washington (4-9 SU, 6-7 ATS) played the Patriots tough last week, but that means Rex Grossman is due for a big stinker. New York (7-6 SU, 6-6-1 ATS) controls its own destiny in the NFC East after theirwin over the Cowboys snapped a four-game losing streak.
Pick:NY Giants(-6 ½)
Miami (4-9 SU, 6-6-1 ATS) has fired coach Tony Sparano and quarterback Matt Moore is questionable with a concussion. Buffalo (5-8 SU, 5-7-1 ATS) is officially eliminated from playoff contention and has lost six straight (1-5 ATS).
Seattle (6-7 SU, 8-4-1 ATS) is still alive for the playoffs and fighting hard, but haven’t played on the road since before Thanksgiving. Chicago (7-6 SU and ATS) running back Marion Barber was the goat at Denver last week, but the playoffs are still a possibility. This should be close.
Pick: Seattle (+3 ½)
New Orleans (10-3 SU, 9-4 ATS) has won five straight SU and ATS and is fighting for the NFC second seed. Minnesota (2-11 SU, 5-6-2 ATS) benched rookie quarterback Christian Ponder last week, but he will reportedly get the start here. Adrian Peterson (ankle) should be back too.
Pick:New Orleans (-6 ½)
Cincinnati (-6 ½) at St. Louis
Cincinnati (7-6 SU, 7-5-1 ATS) is falling apart at 1-4 SU (0-4-1 ATS) in its last five, a bad sign for a young team. St. Louis (2-11 SU and ATS) is the worst ATS team in the league and Sam Bradford (ankle) could be out and replaced by recently signed Kellen Clemens. I’m giving the points.
Pick: Cincinnati (-6 ½)
Tennessee (7-6 SU and ATS) quarterback Matt Hasselbeck (calf) is questionable which could mean Jake Locker starts.Indianapolis (0-13 SU, 4-9 ATS) has gotten two fortunate ‘covers’ the last two weeks, but I don’t see it happening again.
Pick:Tennessee(-6 ½)
Green Bay(-13 ½) at Kansas City
Green Bay (13-0 SU, 9-4 ATS) has lost receiver Greg Jennings which could hurt the offense more than expected. Kansas City (5-8 SU, 7-6 ATS) just fired coach Todd Haley with Romeo Crennel named interim coach. Kyle Orton (finger) should start at quarterback.
Pick:Kansas City(+13 ½)
Detroit (8-5 SU, 6-6-1 ATS) will get defensive tackle NdamukongSuhback and would be in the playoffs if they started today. Oakland (7-6 SU, 8-5 ATS) now trails Denver in the AFC West by one game and needs this badly. They don’t get it.
Pick: Detroit (-1)
New England(-6 ½)at Denver
New England (10-3 SU, 7-6 ATS) has won five straight, but the NFL’s worst defense in total yards is still struggling big-time. Denver (8-5 SU, 7-6 ATS) quarterback Tim Tebow(7-1 SU, 6-2 ATS as the starter) seems to have god on his side andthis should be within a touchdown.
Pick:Denver(+6 ½)
New York (8-5 SU, 6-7 ATS) is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS in its last three, but this is the toughest game in a while. Philadelphia (5-8 SU and ATS) had Mike Vick back for the 26-10 win at Miamilast week and still hasa slim shot at the playoffs.
Pick: NY Jets(+3)
Cleveland (4-9 SU, 4-7-2 ATS) quarterback Colt McCoy (head) is doubtful with Seneca Wallace the backup. Arizona (6-7 SU, 8-5 ATS) is another team looking for a miracle playoff run, going 5-1 SU in the last six and 6-1 ATS in the last seven.
Pick: Arizona(-6 ½)
Baltimore (-2 ½) at San Diego
Baltimore (10-3 SU, 7-5-1 ATS) has won four straight and the defense has allowed 8.6 PPG in the last three. San Diego (6-7 SU, 4-9 ATS) has won two straight and needs this huge Sunday night win to have any shot at the postseason.
Pick: Baltimore (-2 ½)
Pittsburgh(NL) at San Francisco
Pittsburgh (10-3 SU, 6-7 ATS) quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is questionable after suffering an ankle sprain against Cleveland last Thursday. San Francisco (10-3 SU, 10-2-1 ATS) is 1-2 SU and ATS in its last three, but both losses were away. They’re 6-0-1 ATS at home.
