The sports betting scene is starting to pick up as the NHL season is kicking off, the NBA is in training camp, MLB is in the League Championship Series, the college football season BCS Championship contenders are becoming clearer and the NFL is heading in to week six.

This week in baseball will be four teams trying to advance to the World Series. The NLCS begins on Thursday when the Dodgers and Phillies open up the best of seven series in Philadelphia. On Friday, the ALCS will begin with a clash of the AL East as Boston and Tampa play for the right to go to the World Series. Boston and Philadelphia are slight favorites.

The NHL season gets a little more underway as the defending Stanley Cup champs, the Detroit Red Wings start their title defense at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Boston/Colorado and Calgary/Vancouver are some other Thursday NHL matchups. Much of the NHL will play this Saturday.

In the CFL, the 4-10 Toronto Argonauts travel to  Winnipeg to take on the 5-9 Blue Bombers while out West, the BC Lions will host the Edmonton Eskimos. Check out the full schedule of CFL betting matchups.

The college football BCS Championship picture could become a little clearer this week when the Oklahoma Sooners host the Texas Longhorns. The No. 1 ranked Sooners are favored by a touchdown. The other big game in college football is in the Southeast Conference where Florida comes in as a 6-point favorite over the LSU Tigers. Check out the full schedule of college football betting odds.

The National Football League will wrap up the weekend headlined by a few good games. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina will play in Florida where Tampa is a one point favorite. Carolina blasted the Chiefs this past weekend, easily covering the 10 point spread while Tampa was out in Denver, falling 19-16 to the Broncos but covering the late 3.5 point spread.

Another interesting NFL matchup is the Miami Dolphins at the Houston Texans. This a battle of two teams on opposite side of the spectrum. Houston has started the season 0-4, with the most recent loss being the toughest, watching the Indianapolis Colts score 21 points in the last 4 minutes to steal the first home game from the Texans. Can Houston rebound or will this be a crushing loss for this team? On the other side is the Miami Dolphins. Miami is now 2-2 on the season surpassing the one win they had all of last year. They have beat San Diego (7 point underdog) and New England (12.5 underdog) over the last two games and there is optimism everywhere. Houston is favored by 3.

The primetime matchup on Sunday Night Football will be the San Diego Chargers, looking to rebound as 5.5 point favorites over the New England Patriots who came back with a win in San Francisco last weekend easily covering the 3 point spread.

Monday Night Football features a matchup between one of the league best against one of the league worst. The New York football Giants are 4-0 and 8-point road favorites against the Cleveland Browns who are coming off a bye week. Check out the full schedule of NFL football betting odds
