The Boston Celtics are favored to repeat as NBA Champions in 2009. Bodog Life has posted Boston as a 3/1 favorite to win the 2008/2009 Championship.
Following Boston in the Los Angeles Lakers who are listed as 7/2 betting odds. The Lakers had a tremendous turn around this past year, advancing to the NBA Finals but being thoroughly dominated by the Boston Celtics, even though LA was a 3/2 favorite to win the whole thing.
The Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs are both listed at 8/1. The Pistons fired head coach Flip Saunders and are expected to shakeup the roster which has seen them go to six straight Eastern Conference finals. San Antonio has some decisions to make as well. Tim Duncan is getting older and there are some questions heading in to next season.
Chris Paul led the New Orleans Hornets to a legitimate playoff contender this year and they'll head in to next season as 12/1 while the Houston Rockets who will get Yao Ming back are 15/1.
Some other intriguing odds are the Chicago Bulls at 20/1, who pick first overall in the NBA draft later this month and the Miami Heat who are 40/1, although they finished with the worst record in the NBA this past season. Miami hold's the second overall pick and they could have a solid three with Beasley/Rose, Wade and Marion.
