Some of the biggest stars of the sports betting world will be on display on Sunday, and no true fan will want to miss any of this action! The Super Bowl isn't the only major event going down on Super Sunday! Here's what Cappers Mall thinks you should be keeping an eye on as you finish up your weekend.
Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Washington Capitals 12:00 ET: The Penguins return to the scene of the crime to kick off Super Bowl Sunday. Last season, they dismissed the Caps from the playoffs in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals right here at the Verizon Center. This will be the first game between these teams played in the nation's capitol this season. Washington beat the Pens 6-3 in the Steel City on January 21st. As always with these two teams, all eyes will be on Pittsburgh's F Sidney Crosby and Washington's F Alexander Ovechkin, who combined for three goals and an assist in the first game between these squads this year after putting on a show in LYs postseason. You can find Washington lined at -175 in this hockey wagering war at Bodog Sports.
Syracuse Orange vs. Cincinnati Bearcats 2:00 ET: The Fifth Third Arena will be the site of one of the biggest college basketball betting bashes of the day when the Bearcats mix it up with the Orange. Syracuse is sitting at 22-1 and inevitably will be on the #1 line in the NCAA Tournament if it doesn't slip too far, but Cincinnati is just hanging onto its bubble hopes for dear life. The Cuse have taken three of the L/4 both SU and ATS in this Big East rivalry, but the last trip to Cincinnati was a disaster for the Orange, who dropped 74-66. The Greek Sportsbook is featuring a basketball betting line of Syracuse -4.5.
North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Maryland Terrapins 2:00 ET: Two teams that are sitting squarely on the NCAA Tournament bubble will get it on in a huge game on Sunday afternoon. The defending national champs are in a dire situations where they need wins in bunches and quickly. Maryland is looking strong after winning in Tallahassee over Florida State on Thursday, and leading scorer G Grevis Vazquez will take his 17.7 points per game average into battle against a UNC team which has gotten nothing but horrible guard play of late. For that reason, Bookmaker is carrying an NCAA basketball spread of Maryland -6.5.
Orlando Magic vs. Boston Celtics 2:30 ET: Two of last season's best teams from the Eastern Conference battle it out for the fourth time this year on Sunday afternoon. The Magic and Celtics are both sliding a bit, but both are still hanging on to their positions in the playoff race. Orlando has gone just 9-9 SU and 7-10-1 ATS in its L/18 games, while Boston is only 9-11 SU and 5-14-1 ATS in its L/20. The C's may be without the services of F Paul Pierce for the third straight game with a foot sprain. The Magic knocked off the Celtics 96-94 at home just two weeks ago, and it marked the first time that a home team had won a game in this series in their L/4 clashes.
Super Bowl XLIV - New Orleans Saints vs. Indianapolis Colts 6:37 ET: Oh, and something about this "Super Bowl" thing that we keep hearing about... The NFL betting season comes down to this! The Saints and Colts have been discussed at great length over the past two weeks, and it's finally time to get it on in Miami. Expect to see plenty of passing and plenty of offense from QBs Peyton Manning and Drew Brees in this one, as that duo threw for almost 10,000 combined yards including the postseason this year. If you're still looking to place one last bet on the biggest game of the year, the Colts can be found at -4.5 at 5Dimes Sportsbook.
