This Week in Sports Betting: 3/8 through 3/14
With Selection Sunday waiting at the end of the sports betting week, Cappers Mall takes a quick peek at the five best showdowns that you surely won't want to miss!
St. Mary's Gaels vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs, Monday 9:00 ET: The West Coast Conference Final will pit the Bulldogs and Gaels against each other for the third time this season. St. Mary's may need to win this game to get into the field of 65, while Gonzaga knows that it is already safe. This has been the one bugaboo surrounding the Gaels for a few seasons now. They just haven't been able to beat the Zags, and the price that they have paid has been a trip to the NIT instead. If you're a college basketball betting fan and play at Olympic Sportsbook, this isn't a game that you'll want to miss.
Miami Heat vs. Charlotte Bobcats, Tuesday 7:00 ET: The Eastern Conference playoff race is continuing to be tense, and the Bobcats can take one more step closer to making it very uncomfortable for teams #5 - #8 if they can beat Miami on Tuesday night at home. Entering this week, Charlotte is just a game outside of the playoff picture in the East, while Miami is only on the inside by a slender margin. Expect the NBA betting action at 5Dimes.com to be exciting.
San Jose Sharks vs. Vancouver Canucks, Thursday 10:00 ET: Division leaders do battle at GM Place on Thursday night, where a bunch of recent teammates of the gold medal winning Canadian men's hockey team will become rivals. Vancouver's G Roberto Luongo will between the pipes for the Canucks, facing off against the line of Joe Thornton, Dany Heatley, and Patrick Marleau, who made up the best line that Team Canada had during the Olympics. Those three have also combined to score a whopping 214 points coming into this week. You won't want to miss this NHL betting duel at 5Dimes.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns, Friday 9:00 ET: By this point this week, the Lakers could be in some serious jeopardy of losing the #1 seed in the Western Conference. Dallas and Denver are both nipping at their heels, and a trip to Phoenix surely won't be fun. The Suns may have the most well-rounded team in the league, and since he has gotten over the fact that he wasn't traded at the deadline, F Amare Stoudemire has played like a man possessed. If LA doesn't bring its A-game, it will get beaten in this NBA wagering war. You'll find all of the great basketball spreads for this one at Bookmaker.com.
Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, Sunday 3:30 ET: Before settling in and seeing how the brackets shook out for the March Madness Selection Show, check out this crucial tilt between the Celtics and Cavs. No, there probably isn't anything on the line in terms of positioning in the playoffs, as it's pretty clear that Boston is going to be either the #2 or #3 seed in the Eastern Conference and Cleveland is going to be #1, but since that loss to New Jersey, the C's have rolled off four straight wins and they look to be regaining their form. Nothing would be sweeter than a win at "The Q" though to send a message to the top team in the East. BetJamaica will have all of the sports betting action covered in this one.
