Odds to Win the 2010 World Cup (Updated 6/30/10)

Only eight teams are left standing in World Cup betting action heading into Friday's quarterfinal matchups, and here at Cappers Mall, we are analyzing all of the squads as well as their World Cup odds. All World Cup lines are courtesy of BoDog.com

Brazil has taken over the role of the favorite in the World Cup at 5/2, and for good reason. Both Luis Fabiano and Elano have three goals apiece, and the draw for the Brazilians couldn't be much easier to get to the final, as either Uruguay or Ghana awaits if they can surpass Holland this weekend.

The Spanish haven't had much to cheer about, but the team that opened as the favorite to win this tournament is still right there at 11/4. David Villa has been the only major scoring threat for La Roja during the World Cup, as he has four goals and could be well on his way towards winning the Golden Boot.

Argentina comes next at 15/4. Manager Diego Maradona is searching for apologies from the media in his country that suggested that he couldn't coach at this level. However, we aren't overly impressed with the quality of competition the Argentines have faced here in South Africa, and we know that at some point, Lionel Messi is going to have to do something that he has never done: Score a goal in the World Cup.

Both Germany and Holland share 15/2 odds to capture soccer's greatest prize. Both teams have been incredibly impressive so far in this tournament. The Germans have scored nine goals and are coming off of a complete domination of one of the top teams in this tourney in England. Holland has only conceded two goals during the whole tournament, one of which was an incredibly meaningless penalty for Slovakia's Robert Vittek in stoppage time in the Round of 16. Even though La Oranje have won all four of their matches, they have a significantly different challenge coming up on Friday from Brazil.

One of Uruguay (12/1) and Ghana (33/1) has to advance into the semifinals, but neither one has to love their chance of winning it all with Brazil or Holland waiting on the horizon. Ghana could become the first African team to reach the semis with a win on Friday, but Uruguay looks to have the offensive edge with both Luis Suarez and Diego Forlan on fire.

Rounding out the field is Paraguay at 50/1. The Paraguayans advanced to the quarters for the first time in their country's history with a win in penalties over Japan, but they have still never scored a goal in a match beyond the first round of the World Cup.
