a couple of months ago my wife picked up a "sous vide". i had never heard of it. she threw a couple of steaks in and it would rival any steak i've ever had. curious if anybody on the forum has tried this.

lighter fluid is really gross

use a chimney to start a fire

weber makes them

I make steaks probably 4 different ways as go-tos.

one is definitely on a kettle.

do yourself a favor and dont ever use lighter fluid again

chimney get coals lit in 15 minutes

if you're impatient you can get something like this.

unlike lighter fluid the propane does not infuse the charcoal.

One chef says to mix your salt/pepper mix in the ratio you like then grab a pinch, hold it high and let it float down in a random fall.

Others do not do this. I cannot say what is right.

Believe it or not I use a microwave to cook a good NY Strip or Ribeye. Season as you like and put some butter or oil under it before cooking it. Tastes delicious and easy clean up

Reading about it, this sounds like something to try.
