there is that massive pullback. price will retrace is the most likely scenario but like anything else nothing is guaranteed:

wait til the price gets into the $5k area early this summer and start buying. it could possibly go under $5k but either way, that will be the bottom for the next bull run.
those on the fence or looking for another chance to enter will have a window. if you have a 401K or a stock trading account GBTC is the ticker. You will never see prices that low again ever.

Post Way too sketchy for my (meager) investment dollars.

This seems like the most probable scenario to me...

When Bitcoin was really running a while back(much higher price than now even with runup), I ran it by my adviser of the professional investment firm, which manages 80% of my money and has been extremely successful and asked him if they were considering investing in it or if I should with some of the 20% which I control.
He simply stated that one of the reasons that the firm has been so successful as it has been over the years(always #1 or near the top), is that they buy good high quality and PROVEN companies and do not gamble with speculative stuff like that-hat was/is good enough for me.
That said, good luck to those who are invested in this or similar ventures and/or those who are going to or considering to invest their money in this fashion.

yes, crypto isnt for everyone. bitcoin is a threat to investment firms, banks, etc , pretty much everything financial, so it is in their best interests to steer people away from the enemy. most dont understand or are hesitant to learn. most will be forced. remember the beginning of the internet and email. Everyone eventually adapted, gave in, and learned. There were many doubters at first now you cant live without it. Same will go for a worldwide digital currrency.

I will be the first to admit that anything is possible, and if was a bit younger I might be tempted to roll the dice with Bitcoin/worldwide currency.
Even though I don't do it much any more, when I was younger and inexperienced, I invested in and literally lost many untold thousands of dollars with penny stocks on a less certain things such as alleged cures for cancer and other serious diseases, alleged huge gold and oil discoveries, how to turn air into water and worse, buying too many calls over time, a guaranteed way to lose your money(now for the most part I sell covered calls and also out of the money puts about stocks I am confident about-lets say the results compared to the other are like night and day-it is comparable to one's success rate betting on sporting events over time as opposed to being the Bookmaker taking the bets-we all know who comes out on top in the overwhelming number of times in this over time.
In short my philosophy with any kind of speculative investment is fine go for it if you feel so inclined, but as the old investing advises, don't invest more than you can comfortably absorb if you should lose your entire investment!

Completely agree. This is the time to take note, learn more about bitcoin and be ready to pull the trigger when it gets there. Or better off, start dollar-cost averaging down starting now. If you have X you want to invest, maybe buy 1/10 of X once a week for the next 10 weeks or even just do X amount every week until you are satisfied. Then emotions and lack of investing skills won't screw you over. Timing is tough, but this recent run along with previous bull runs of bitcoin should be enough proof that there are much higher prices to come.

I have this coulda, wouda, shuda.

In June 2016, Roofies advised me to buy bitcoin with my 1.66% CapitalOne offer of $10,000. BTC was then $2000. I coulda bought 5-BTC which wouda been $50,000 @ the NFL start. I wouda put $25,000 into BetOnline and Bookmaker. I coulda then parlayed my $50,000 @ the 2 books because I always get 3-0 the first two weeks. The $50,000 @ +600 wouda been worth $300,000. I then coulda funded 4 more books to stay within their $150,000 parlay limits and bet the $300,000 @ +600 again to win $1.8 million and send it back to a wallet to cash in @ $18,000/BTC.

Coulda happened.

I hear ya.
Lets just say that in my own lifetime and I am sure most other investors, they have also passed on what seemed to be solid investments and in retrospect kick themselves in the ass for not investing.
However to be fair about this all of us can look back on something we should not have invested in which we did, which ultimately cost us dearly, or just as importantly didn't invest in something which looked juicy on the surface and with the bs hype which went with it and which eventually went belly-up.
I refer you to the 2000 dot.com hysteria where penny stocks and the pie in the sky promises of riches to come ruled and could be found everywhere.
The number of them which actually made it big time and/or just survived you can count on one hand.

After a flash crash from 7800 to the low 6k's a couple days ago, bitcoin has bounced all the way back up to 8000 in 2 days. I've been skeptical of how high and quick this move has been over the past month, and still am somewhat. But this bounce back gives me high degree of certainty we are going a little higher, at least in the short term. Targeting 9400 now, then re-evaluate.
