I basically predicted all of this would happen about a decade ago....

Not that I am thrilled about being "right"... but I caught a lot of shit here and other forums over the years for posting my opinions on the corrupt US legal justice system and police brutality. And I swore that it was getting worse and worse every day, and eventually it would reach a tipping point.

It is just funny to me in a way, I had literally been made out to be a unhinged person who was being over reactive so the situations that were happening in our country, and now look who finally got some vindication.

I don't give a fuk anymore though, because now I finally see the rest of the world waking up in turn, and sure some of you will still think I am full of shit, but guess what, you are in the minority now.

So yea, I am not "thrilled" that I called all of this, but I wouldn't of predicted all of this if I didn't see the writing on the wall. Maybe now people will start taking this shit seriously. I would like to maybe start a family one day, but not until I see some changes in the world, this is the precipice we are at right now, it is time to make the leap and make the world a better place

I know a lot of people still think this is all a big joke or something, but it is not. We need to change the world for the better, this is our opportunity. I know I probably won't make any friends with this kind of "I told you so" post, but I don't care. I just want ppl to wake the F up already.

Dawg, just my opinion

When you are ready to start your family, teach them right from wrong and love them and care for them and lead by example and all will be fine. I dont agree with many things going on, the looting, tearing down statues, the staple of nascar being the confederate flag being removed, the constant backlash the cops get when 99 percent of them do there job and help protect us, and will protect your family when you are ready to start that journey. That being said, many other things that are going on in terms of BLM that I dont agree with or understand but I can tell you this, I am not racist and I will treat everyone the same regardless of there color. And to be honest where I come from, there are many racist people and its how they were brought up. I have been fortunate to be raised my parents especially by my Mom who has the biggest heart of anyone (almost too nice) at times. Just treat people with respect and kindness and raise your kids right. I want the best for everyone.

For every blue haired maniac you see throwing a temper tantrum on the street on CNN there are 1000 middle of the road citizens shaking their heads moving further to the right

This has been going on for years. However, it was being communicated by African Americans and the power to be ignored it. The phone camera put all of this on display.

If you’re worried about bringing kids in the world because of “the times” or people being oppressed, don’t ever have kids. Groups of people will always be oppressed all over the world and in every country. That’s mankind. People still had kids during wars, oppressive regimes, plagues, starvation and drought, etc.

Like TG said. Teach your kids to be the best human beings to your capability, including yourself. Children are impressionable; monkey see, monkey do. If you treat a group of people different than others in front of your kids, they’ll pick up on that. It starts from home and works outward. Check yourself. Check their friends. Check your friends. Check what you and them are watching and listening to. All of these factors are extremely influential on how your kids behave and grow up to be. Parents don’t get days off.

FTW,

Remember the time you raced to that horrific multi-vehicle accident and were the first emergency responder to arrive. The young mother had horrible injuries and there was blood every where. Her daughter was near death and Mom was pleading with you to save her. You fought back tears and wrapped a tourniquet on the daughter's nearly amputated arm. She went vital signs absent and you initiated CPR. When all was said and done you saved that child's life. As a Dad this never leaves your mind. The mother still reaches out to you ten years later.

Remember the time you attended that domestic violence incident. The drunken husband held a knife to his wife's throat. The man was totally out of control. You had your service firearm drawn and was prepared to use it if necessary. Fortunately the man eventually dropped the knife and surrendered without further incident. Your dialogue allowed the matter to de-escalate. Well done!

Remember the time you were one of the officers providing containment at that bank robbery where one employee was killed and others were being held hostage. The incident commander had initiated the use of hostage negotiator and after 18 frightening hours the matter ended with the two armed killers being shot and killed by SWAT. Every attempt to resolve the matter peacefully failed.

Remember the time you and hundreds of other emergency responders rushed into the burning building after an explosion. Everyone else was running in the opposite direction. Seeing so many badly injured fellow citizens, so many deceased citizens who were not even recognizable, and so many emergency responders who died trying to save others has haunted you forever. That said, you continue to provide the best service you can.

Oh my gosh, just read your post again. I thought you were a police officer and was going to tip my hat to you. Instead you hate the police - you paint them all with the same disgusting brush. FTW - says it all! Your contribution to a better society for everyone is to protest, rant and start idiotic threads such as this. Yes, some police are clearly racist, violent and out of control. They need to be dealt with like any other criminal. Then there is reality, where each and every day police officers put their life at risk to save others so that all people, including YOU, will live to be with their family.

Cops, Firefighters and EMS deal with alot of crazy and terrible stuff. You see stuff and deal with things you can never unsee or forget. I know first hand 95% do the best they can with what they have and the situation that presents itself. They always have a few bad apples in every profession. First responders don't make crap when they start and deal with alot of crap. I respect and support them. They should not all be painted with the same brush. If all the protesters did a tour as a firefighter, cop or EMS worker they would feel much different.

Especially, if that tour were to be in Chicago!
