Was just hearing this earlier today on SiriusXM ... lol. Fogerty was pissed.

John Fogerty: Grateful Dead "sabotaged our chance" at Woodstock - Los Angeles Times

“By the time we went on it was 2:30 in the morning,” Creedence singer, John Fogerty told The Times in a phone interview. "We played a great set, but the Grateful Dead had put everyone to sleep, there was almost no reaction.”

deep tracks Ch.27

So we turn onto the street and the guy says, "That church is where they had Jerry Garcia's funeral." Normally, it is a very quite suburban neighborhood but, on the day of Jerry's funeral, as you could imagine, there were hundreds of people and, all the streets were packed w/cars and limos. He goes on to tell me, "This little 8 year old girl from the neighborhood, wonders what all the hubbub is up at the church. So, she walked to the church and went in. There she saw Jerry Garcia laying in a coffin and, immediately burst into tears. She ran all the way home crying her eyes out. Arriving at home still bawling her eyes out, her Mom says, 'Honey what's wrong?' The little girl takes a big gulp and blurts out... Santa Claus is DEAD!!" Boo hoo hoo..
