The Orlando Magic (13-21) have lost three straight heading into tonight’s matchup with the Dallas Mavericks (16-16). To avoid their fourth straight loss, the Magic will need to find some production from deep in their bench as they face a myriad of injuries. The most recent injury was to Cole Anthony, who was having a spectacular rookie season. Anthony is out with a rib injury, and will be for some time. He joins Markelle Fultz (knee - out for season) and Aaron Gordon (ankle - 4-6 weeks). James Ennis is also questionable with a calf injury.

The lack of depth hurt the Magic in their 124-108 loss to Utah. The Jazz outrebounded the Magic by 15, and scored 24 second-chance points, which was the difference in the game. Nikola Vucevic scored 34 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Evan Fournier scored 16 points, and Terrence Ross added 10 points.

The Mavericks, winners of three of their last four, defeated Brooklyn 115-98 on Friday night. The Nets were without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, but still had James Harden available. Dallas held Brooklyn to just 34 second half points. Luka Doncic scored 27 points, and added six rebounds and seven assists. Kristaps Porzingis, in his first game back from injury, scored 18 points and blocked three shots.

Dallas won the first matchup between these two teams 112-98.Tim Hardaway, Jr. scored 36 points and had five rebounds, and Luka Doncic recorded a 20 point, 10 rebound, 10 assist triple double. Porzingis did not play in the first matchup. For Orlando, Vucevic scored 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, while Ross had 11 points and four rebounds.

Mavericks Happy To Have Porzingis Back
The Dallas Mavericks were excited to get their 7’3 Latvian wonder back from injury. At one point against a very small Brooklyn lineup, Kristaps Porzingis took 10 straight shots. He should have his hands full against the very physical Nikola Vucevic, but at least he should get to play this time as he missed the last matchup.

The Mavericks are led by Luka Doncic, one of the top young talents in the game. Doncic has averaged 28.5 ppg, 8.4 rpg, and 9.0 apg while shooting 35.1% from beyond the arc. Tim Hardaway, Jr. has hit 39.2% of his three-point attempts while averaging 16.7 ppg and 3.1 rpg. Kristaps Porzingis has averaged 20.4 ppg, 8.0 rpg, and 1.7 bpg this season.

Offensively, the Mavericks are 13th in the NBA in effective field goal percent (54.1%), 3rd in turnover percent (11.3%), 25th in offensive rebounding percent (19.2%), and eighth in free throws per field goal attempts (.207). Defensively, Dallas is 20th in opponent’s effective field goal percent (54.3%), 18th in opponent turnover percent (12.3%), 21st in defensive rebounding percent (77.1%), and 23rd in opponents free throws per field goal attempts (.208).

Magic Dealing With Yet Another Injury
Orlando has simply not been able to play with their full roster. Even with the loss of Fultz for the rest of the season, the Magic could have a formidable lineup if they could keep everyone else healthy. They got Evan Fournier and Michael Carter-Williams back, but lost Cole Anthony. Aaron Gordon has been out for an extended period as well. The result has been inconsistency all season long.
The trio of Nikola Vucevic, Evan Fournier, and Terrence Ross now are tasked with carrying the team offensively until some depth pieces can be developed or added. With the trade deadline approaching, there is a chance Orlando could move some pieces as they build toward the future.

Vucevic has averaged 24.4 ppg, 11.6 rpg, and 3.6 apg, and has hit 41.0% of his three point attempts. Fournier averages 18.2 ppg, and has hit 35.5% of his three point shots. Terrence Ross is a 34.3% three point shooter who averages 15.1 ppg off the bench.

As a team, the Magic have an effective field goal percentage of 49.4%, 30th in the league. Orlando is 5th in the league in turnover percent (11.8%), 17th in offensive rebounding percent (22.3%) and 26th in free throws per field goal attempts (.171). Defensively, the Magic are 21st in the NBA in opponent’s effective field goal percent (54.6%), 19th in opponent turnover percentage (12.1), second in defensive rebound percent (79.9%), and sixth in opponent free throws per field goal attempts (.166).

The Indiana Pacers will be trying to snap their three-game losing streak when they face the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night. The Pacers are coming off a 110-107 loss to New York as one-point underdogs. The 76ers are coming off a 112-109 loss to Cleveland as 11.5-point favorites.

Indiana and Philadelphia have split their last 10 meetings.

Pacers Trying To Snap Road Losing Streak
The Pacers aren’t playing well at the moment and have also struggled on the road where they have lost their last two contests. They will try to snap their losing streak and pick up their second win in their last five games when they play on Monday.

Indiana is averaging 113 points per game. The team finished with 107 points in their last game, making 45.2 percent of their field goals and 39.3 percent of their three-pointers.

76ers Going For Third Win in Four Games

The Denver Nuggets travel to the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, to battle the Chicago Bulls in Monday night NBA action beginning at 9 pm EST. Currently, the Nuggets are favored by 4.5-points, down from 5.5 at the opening, while the total stands at 228.5-points.

The Nuggets were able to atone for a slim loss in the opener of their 5-game road trip versus the Washington Wizards Thursday night to take out the Oklahoma City Thunder Saturday night by 29-points. Denver was able to jump out to an 18-point lead at the end of the opening period and never looked back as the offense was on fire shooting 55% while nailing 15 3-pointers, 9 total by Jamal Murray along with Michael Porter, Jr. (who posted a double-double). Furthermore, Nikola Jokic posted a triple-double in the contest as the Nuggets won their 18th game of the year while halting a 3-game skid against the spread covering as 6.5-point favorites.

The Bulls were not able to take the court versus the Toronto Raptors Sunday night due to a worsening situation related to the pandemic as the Raptors were without their head coach, many of his assistants, along with Pascal Siakam on the bench in Friday night's 11-point win over the Houston Rockets. Nonetheless, the Bulls are winners of 3 of their last 4 outings; Yet, are coming off a 9-point home loss to the Phoenix Suns last Friday as they allowed the Suns to rally in the 4th-period to outscore them by a margin of 32-16 to take the win. And while Chicago is 3-1 ATS in their last 4 outings, they failed to cover as 6.5-point dogs versus the Suns.

In head to head action, the Nuggets have dominated this series picking up wins in 8 of the last 10 meetings, including in 3-straight at the United Center. Denver is also 8-2 ATS in their last 10 versus the Bulls while going 4-1 in this area in their last 5 roadies.

Nuggets shine versus Thunder for win
Murray and Porter, Jr. destroyed Oklahoma City from the perimeter going a combined 9-14 from long-range while Jokic dominated in the paint as he ended with 19 points, 11 rebounds, along with 13 dimes on 8-10 shooting in the blowout victory for the Nuggets, his 3rd triple-double in 7 games. Will Barton along with Monte Morris also chipped in 15 and 13 points, respectively, as all starters recorded double-figures.

Important to note that the Nuggets have been able to win 3 of 5 without some key pieces in the lineup due to injury such as Gary Harris (thigh/out indefinitely), Paul Millsap (knee/out indefinitely), along with JaMychal Green (shoulder/questionable).

They will now take on a Bulls team that they have not taken the floor against since January of 2019 when the Nuggets took a 30-point home win. Worth noting that Denver has had tons of success as of late at the United Center picking up 3-straight wins by an average margin of victory of 17 points. However, the Nuggets are just a game above .500 on the road this year while going 3-7 ATS in their last 10 away from home.

Bulls look to get back on winning track
With Zack LaVine in the lineup, the Bulls have catapulted themselves into one of the more potent offensive teams in the league averaging 115 points per game on 49% shooting (38% from long-range). LaVine has been instrumental in the team's offensive dominance posting 30 or more in 7 of the team's last 10 outings. And while the guard posted 24 points versus the Suns in their most recent loss, he shot better than 50% for the contest while going 4-8 from long-range to raise his shooting percentages to 52% FG along with 44% from deep on the year.

Shooting guard Coby White along with Thaddeus Young have supplied some solid minutes on the offensive end as well averaging 16 and 12 points per game, respectively. However, it has been the perimeter defense that has failed Chicago throughout the season as they are allowing teams to shoot 47% from the floor while connecting on 35% of their shots from long-range.

On the other hand, it should be mentioned that the Bulls have fared much better in recent outings allowing just an average of 111 points in their last 10. However, the Nuggets have had some monster games versus Chicago in recent matchups posting at least 110 points in 6 of their last 7 meetings, including 135 in their last matchup January of 2019.

The Utah Jazz will be going for their second consecutive win when they face the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night. The Jazz are coming off a 124-109 win over Orlando as 9.5-point favorites. The Pelicans are coming off a 117-114 loss to San Antonio as two-point favorites.

Utah is 8-2 in its last 10 games against New Orleans.

Jazz Going For Fourth Win In Five Games
The Jazz bounced back from their loss to Miami with a win over Orlando in their last game, giving them the first win of their current road trip. They will try to keep the momentum going with a win over the Pelicans, which will give them their second win in a row and fourth win in their last five games.

Utah is one of the best offensive teams in the league, averaging 116.2 points per game. They finished with 124 points in their last game, making 52.9 percent of their field goals and 37.8 percent of their three-pointers.

Donovan Mitchell led the way for Utah with 31 points, four rebounds, and six assists. Jordan Clarkson finished with 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Rudy Gobert added 12 points and 16 rebounds for the Jazz.

Utah has also played well defensively, giving up 106.5 points per game. They gave up 109 points in their last game and will need a similar effort if they want to get the win.

Pelicans Trying To Snap Two-Game Losing Streak
The Pelicans lost both games of their two-game road trip and hope some home cooking will get them back on track against the Jazz, who took the first two meetings of the season. They will try to snap their losing streak and pick up their third win in their last five games when they play on Monday.

New Orleans has done well offensively, averaging 115.5 points per game. They finished with 114 points in their last game, making 44 percent of their field goals and 28.1 percent of their three-pointers.

Brandon Ingram led the way for New Orleans with 29 points, four rebounds, and five assists. Zion Williamson finished with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists, while Eric Bledsoe added 19 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals for the Pelicans.

New Orleans is one of the worst defensive teams in the league, giving up 115.7 points per game. They gave up 117 points in their last game and will need a significantly better performance if they want to win this game.

In their last action, San Antonio was a 117-114 winner at home against the Pelicans. They covered the +2.5-point spread as underdogs, while the combined score (231) was profitable news for UNDER bettors.

The Nets were a 115-98 loser in their most recent outing at home against the Mavericks. They failed to cover the -1-point spread as favorites, while the total score (213) made winners of UNDER bettors.

The Brooklyn Nets will travel to the AT&T Center on Monday night to take on the San Antonio Spurs in an interconference matchup. This will be the first of two regular-season games these two teams will play against one another. The Nets are second in the Eastern Conference with a 22-13 record and are coming off a 115-98 loss against the Dallas Mavericks. The San Antonio Spurs are fifth in the Western Conference with a 17-12 record and are coming off a 117-114 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

These teams are a few points away on the defensive side of the floor from one another so it will be interesting to see if Kyrie Irving plays and how the offenses click. Let’s take a deeper dive into the teams to decide where we should be placing our wagers.

Going Hard-en
The Brooklyn Nets have been relying on point guard James Harden to carry the offensive load this season. He is averaging 25 points, 7.5 rebounds, 10.9 assists, 0.7 blocks, and 1.1 steals in 37.5 minutes on the court. He is shooting the ball at a solid clip as he is 47.6 percent from the floor, 39.7 percent from three-point range, and 86.6 percent from the charity stripe. In his last game against the Mavericks, Harden played 33 minutes and finished with 29 points, seven rebounds, six assists, a block, and six turnovers. If he can figure out a way to have a similar game with less turnovers, the Nets will be back in the win column.

The Brooklyn Nets have been a below-average defense to begin the year as they are giving up 116.3 points per game, which is 27th in the league. In their last game against the Dallas Mavericks, they allowed 115 points on 45-of-86 (52.3 percent) from the floor, 14-of-36 (38.9 percent) from beyond the arc, and 17 free-throw attempts. If they can figure out how to limit the amount of open shots from beyond the three-point line being taken against them, they will be an even better defense

If I Shoot It, It Goes In
The San Antonio Spurs have been relying on small forward DeMar DeRozan to carry the offensive load this season. He is averaging 20.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, seven assists, 0.3 blocks, and 0.8 steals in 33.6 minutes on the court. He is shooting the ball at a good clip as he is 49.4 percent from the floor, 32.7 percent from three-point range, and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line. In his last game against the Pelicans, DeRozan played 38 minutes and finished with 32 points, one rebound, 11 assists, and a pair of steals. If he can figure out a way to have a similar game, they will be in a great spot.

The San Antonio Spurs have been a solid defense to begin the year as they are giving up just 111.2 points per game, which is 11h in the league. In their last game against the New Orleans Pelicans, they allowed 114 points on 40-of-91 (44 percent) from the floor, 9-of-32 (28.1 percent) from beyond the arc, and 31 free-throw attempts. If they can figure out how to defend without fouling, they will be in a better spot.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to the Toyota Center on Monday night to take on the Houston Rockets in an interconference matchup. This is the second and final time these teams will face off against each other. In their first game back on Wednesday in Cleveland, the Cavs picked up a 112-96 win. The Cavaliers are 14th in the Eastern Conference with a 13-21 record. They are riding a three-game winning streak after going on the road and defeating the Philadelphia 76ers in overtime 112-109 on Saturday. The Rockets are 14th in the Western Conference with an 11-20 record. They are riding a 10-game losing streak and played the Memphis Grizzlies last night.

These teams have been playing very similar on the defensive side of the court so it will be interesting to see which offense can take advantage. Let’s take a deeper dive into the matchup to decide where we should be placing our wagers.

The Next Big Scorer?
Point guard Collin Sexton has been one of the best young players in the league as per usual. He is averaging 23.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 35.9 minutes on the court. His shooting numbers are doing well so far as he is 48.3 percent from the floor, 39.3 percent from the three-point line, and 80.2 percent from the free-throw line. In his last game against the 76ers, Sexton played 45 minutes and finished with 28 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals, and four turnovers. If he can figure out a way to score the ball as well as he did here while cutting on the turnovers, the Cavs will be competitive here.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have a below-average defense in the league at this point as they are giving up 112.6 points per game, which ranks 19th in the NBA. In their last game against the Philadelphia 76ers, they allowed 109 points on 38-of-84 (45.2 percent) from the floor, 10-of-28 (35.7 percent) from beyond the arc, and shot 35 free-throws. If the Cavs can figure out how to defend without fouling, they will be in a great spot.

To The Windows...
Point guard John Wall will have to step up even more than his team-leading scoring for the Houston Rockets. He is averaging 20.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.4 assists, a steal, and 0.7 blocks in 31.1 minutes on the court. He is close to his career numbers as he is 43.2 percent from the floor, 34.9 percent from the three-point line, and 75.5 percent from the free-throw line. In his last game against the Raptors, Wall played 36 minutes and finished with 21 points, two rebounds, 12 assists, and a block. He has been doing well and needs to stuff the stat sheet for the Rockets to be in this game.

The Houston Rockets have been an average defense in the league at this point as they are giving up 111.9 points per game, which ranks 14th in the NBA. In their last game against the Toronto Raptors, they allowed 122 points on 40-of-89 (44.9 percent) from the floor, 16-of-41 (39 percent) from beyond the arc, and shot 27 free-throws. If the Rockets can lower the number of open looks they allow from the three-point line, they will be even better on the defensive side.

The Portland Trail Blazers seek to get back on the winning track when they host the Charlotte Hornets Monday night at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, beginning at 10:30 pm EST. Currently, the Trail Blazers are favored by 6.5-points while the total stands at 235.5-points.

The Hornets were able to prevail in a high-scoring, back and forth affair Sunday night versus the Sacramento Kings as both teams shot over 50% for the contest. However, Charlotte was able to outscore the home team 39-30 in the final period to squeak out a 1-point win as the team received huge performances from forward PJ Washington along with LaMelo Ball, who posted a double-double with 12 assists on the night. With the win, the Hornets remained on the heels of the Miami Heat for 1st in the Southeast division. The Hornets were able to cover as 3.5-point dogs versus the Kings and are 3-3 ATS in their last 6 games.

The Trail Blazers find themselves in a free-fall after dropping their 4th-straight on the road to the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night as their offense went cold after a solid 1st period while being relegated to 39% shooting from the floor in the 9-point loss. Damian Lillard along with Gary Trent, Jr. attempted to keep the team competitive throughout combining for 7 3-pointers; However, the duo was also responsible for 7 of the team's 15 turnovers. And while Lillard shot 11-24 FG, Trent, Jr. went a dismal 8-20 from the field while missing 9 of 11 3-point attempts. Portland failed to cover for the 3rd time in 4 games, this time as 5-point dogs.

Portland will take the floor in this contest seeking its 7th-straight win versus the Hornets, including 6th-straight on their home floor. Furthermore, the Trail Blazers are also 7-3 against the number in their last 10 versus Charlotte while going 4-1 ATS in their last 5 homers.

Monk saves the day for Hornets
Malik Monk posted 20+ point off the bench in 4-straight games for Charlotte and was responsible for the game-winning hoop and the harm versus the Kings Sunday night while finishing with 21 points while going 8-17 from the field (0-7 3FG). In addition to his performance, Washington led the team with 42 points, 9 rebounds, along with 2 blocks while being responsible for 5 of the team's 11 3-pointers while Ball posted his 4th-straight 20+ point night with 24 points and 12 dimes as the Hornets sank 54% of their shots along with 37% of their treys in the win (11).

Important to note that Terry Rozier struggled in this contest going just 2-9 FG along with 1-4 from long-range for 8 points (5 turnovers). Rozier has not only committed 15 turnovers in his last 4 outings, but, is averaging just 13 points per during this time, 6 points less than his average for the year.

However, Rozier was outstanding in his last outing versus the Trail Blazers posting 25 points and 7 rebounds while going 4-8 from deep in the team's 3-point home win January of last year. Washington also posted 20 points, 11 boards, along with 2 blocks in addition to going 3-6 from long-range as the Hornets nailed 18 treys. However, it should be mentioned that the Hornets have posted under 100 points in 2 of 4 road outings versus the Trail Blazers while averaging 103 points during this time.

Portland endures horrible 3-game road trip
The Trail Blazers went 3-0 SU in a 3-game road trip from February 14th-17th in wins over the Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunder, along with the New Orleans Pelicans, all without CJ McCollum in the lineup. However, in 3-straight outings versus 3 of the big boys in the west recently (Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers), Portland went winless as their offense posted an average of 98 points during this time. To make matters worse, McCollum remains out of the lineup after 6 weeks of rehab and is not due back until early March with a foot injury.

Lillard has certainly done his part continuing to put in solid performances, including averaging just under 30 points during their most recent road trip while Enes Kantor has been a beast on the boards racking up double-doubles in 3 of his last 4 starts. However, Trent, Jr. has underperformed during their 4-game skid while Carmelo Anthony has also been up and down during this time with his shooting average from the field dipping to under 40% after a 4-point, 2-7 shooting night versus the Lakers.

This may be the game that the Trail Blazers need to get back on track as the offense has really done well in recent meetings versus the Hornets posting an average of 115 points in their last 4 at Moda Center. On the other hand, their defense, which has allowed 121 points on average in their last 5, has given up 103 points or less in 3 of their last 4 homers versus Charlotte.
