Two MAC teams will face off against each other on Tuesday as the Toledo Rockets travel to McGuirk Arena to take on the Central Michigan Chippewas. Toledo enters this game with a 19-6 record after beating Western Michigan at home by 47 points in its last game while Central Michigan enters this game with a 6-15 record after losing to Ball State on the road by six points in its last game. This game will start at 5:00 P.M. EST.

Toledo Looks To Extend Its Winning Streak
The Toledo Rockets have been playing some great basketball lately as they have won each of their last three games including a 47-point home victory against the Western Michigan Broncos in their last game. In that game, Toledo's offense was amazing as it scored 91 points while shooting 54.5% from the floor and 41.9% from the three-point line. However, that offensive explosion was not too surprising since the Rockets are averaging 81.1 points per game. Now, Toledo will be looking to extend its winning streak with a conference road game up next.
Leading the way offensively for Toledo this season is senior guardMarreon Jackson who is averaging a team-high 17.5 points per game along with a team-high 6.1 assists per game. However, he is also shooting just 39.9% from the floor as he has been extremely inefficient offensively up to this point.

Toledo's most underrated player this season is junior forwardSetric Millner Jr. who is averaging 12.1 points per game along with a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game. In addition, he is only averaging 1.8 turnovers per game as he has been extremely careful with the basketball.

Central Michigan Looks To Snap Its Losing Streak
The Central Michigan Chippewas have been playing some terrible basketball lately as they have lost each of their last eight games including a six-point road loss against the Ball State Cardinals in their last game. In that game, Central Michigan's defense was useless as it allowed 97 points while letting the opposition shoot 55.9% from the floor and 48.1% from the three-point line. Now, Central Michigan will be looking to snap its losing streak with a conference home game up next. However, the Chippewas have lost 12 of their first 14 conference games as they have looked like a bottom feeder in the MAC all season long.
Leading the way offensively for Central Michigan this season is senior guardTravon Broadway Jr. who is averaging a team-high 17.9 points per game along with 5.4 rebounds per game. However, he has not played since February 6th due to injury and he is doubtful for this contest.

Central Michigan's most underrated player is junior guardMeikkel Murray who is averaging 14.5 points along with 5.8 rebounds per game. In addition, he is shooting 51.2% from the floor as he has been pretty efficient offensively up to this point.

Tuesday evening will feature one of the biggest college basketball games of the regular season when the No. 3 Baylor Bears visit the No. 6 West Virginia Mountaineers in Morgantown. Baylor is looking to regroup after its first loss of the season, a 71-58 defeat to the No. 13 Kansas Jayhawks as a 4.5-point road favorite on Saturday night to fall to 18-1 (10-1 Big 12). West Virginia is in second place in the conference at 17-6 (10-4 Big 12) after demolishing the Kansas State Wildcats 65-43 over the weekend as a 15.5-point home favorite.

These teams split two games last season with West Virginia pulling off a huge upset of the fourth-ranked Bears in March, but Baylor still leads 11-8 all-time.

Baylor's undefeated run comes to an end
College basketball's lone remaining undefeated team is the Gonzaga Bulldogs after Baylor struggled offensively in a 13-point loss at Kansas on Saturday night. The Bears played well early on with a 30-26 lead near the end of the first, but Kansas went on a 17-3 run spanning halftime, and Baylor's normally elite offense managed just 11 points in the final 10 minutes of the game as the Jayhawks ended up winning comfortably.

MaCio Teague led the Bears with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Davion Mitchell had 13 points. The Bears looked rusty offensively in just their second game in four weeks, shooting 34.8% from the field and 6/16 from the free throw line.

“Our guys, we didn’t quit. We had chances,” head coach Scott Drew said via the Associated Press. “It was down to five or seven, I thought we were right there. They drew a foul and I thought that was the turning point as far as our comeback.”

The Bears are also elite against the spread at 13-6, but haven't looked right in two games since coming off a lengthy COVID pause as they beat last-place Iowa State by just five as a 24-point favorite last week. Overs are 10-9 for the Bears, with the Kansas game going under the betting total to snap a streak of six straight overs.

Even with the poor showing against Kansas, the Bears are still fourth in the nation in scoring at 84.9 points per game on shooting splits of 54.1% from two and 42.1% from three, the best mark in college basketball. Baylor's defense ranks in the top 35 in scoring at 63.7 points per game allowed, with opponents shooting 47.7% from two and 32.1% from beyond the arc.

Jared Butler is an All-American candidate at 16.4 points, 4.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game on just shy of 50% shooting from the field. Three other Bears average at least 10.5 points per game, including Mitchell at 13.5 points and 5.6 assists per contest on 46.6% shooting from three.

Everyone was available for the Bears on Saturday and there shouldn't be any absences for the West Virginia game. It was recently reveled the Bears had as many as eight positive COVID tests during their three-week pause.

West Virginia crushes Kansas State
The Mountaineers figured to have no problems completing the season sweep over Kansas State over the weekend for their sixth win in seven games, and indeed led wire-to-wire over the Wildcats. West Virginia opened the game on a 15-6 run in the first 10 minutes, and later spurts of 12-2 and 17-0 extended the advantage as Kansas State scored just 21 points in the second half.

Sean McNeil led the Mountaineers with 16 points, while Derek Culver had 11 points and six rebounds. West Virginia's defense was in complete command, holding Kansas State to 29.4% from the field with 17 turnovers.

“I thought the second half we played pretty well. We were pretty efficient,” head coach Bob Huggins said to the Associated Press. “The first half was a miserable half for both teams.”

West Virginia is now 13-10 against the spread this season, and has covered in five of its last six games with the only loss coming by a point to the No. 16 Oklahoma Sooners in double overtime. Overs are a strong 15-8 for the Mountaineers, although each of their last two games have gone under the betting total.

The Mountaineers are inside the top 60 nationally in scoring at 77.1 points per game on shooting splits of 46.3% from two and 36.5% from three. Opponents are putting up 70.8 points per game against the Mountaineers while shooting 50.4% from two and 32.1% from beyond the arc.

Miles McBride is having an excellent season with 15.5 points and 4.6 assists per game on 42.9% shooting from three to lead the Mountaineers. Culver is averaging a double-double at 15 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, while Taz Sherman and McNeil are also in double figures scoring.

Starting forward Oscar Tshiebwe left the program in late December and is headed to Kentucky after averaging 8.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season. Freshman forward Isaiah Cottrell injured his Achillies in December and will miss the rest of the season.

The Ohio Bobcats will be on the road in a regular season rematch against the Kent State Golden Flashes. The Bobcats could not hold off the Golden Flashes in their last constant as they lost by a score of 89-79. The Bobcats are 13-7 to this point of the year while they lost their last contest against Buffalo by 20 points. The Golden Flashes have won eight of their last ten games which has earned them a record of 15-6.

The Bobcats have posted a record of 11-7 ATS this season while their ability to put up big points has allowed them to achieve the over in 11 of 18 contest. The Golden Flashes have earned a record of 11-9 ATS as they have been a mirror image in the over/under as they are 11-9 in favor of the over.

Bobcats Looking to Bounce Back
The Ohio Bobcats were dominated by Buffalo the last time they touched the hardwood by a score of 86-66. The Bobcats have been good this year but inconsistency has killed them. They recently beat one of the best teams in the MAC in Akron by 17 points then come back and lose by 20 to Buffalo after beating them earlier in the year. Prior to the loss the Bobcats had won six games straight so there is no doubt they can take down the Golden Flashes even though they lost by 10 points in their previous meeting. The Bobcats are scoring as well as anyone this year with 79.6 points per contest while they have held opponents to 73.7 points. The Bobcats usually come out the gates hot as they are scoring 41.2 points in the second half alone which they rely on to jump on teams.
The Bobcats have gotten big time minutes from Guard Jason Preston who is doing it all with 15.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game. The last time these two met, Preston could not lead the Bobcats to victory even with 23 points on 8-14 attempts. Kent State will not go away easily and the Bobcats will need more than Preston to knock them off. Forward Dwight Wilson III is also putting up big numbers with 15.2 points and 7.3 rebounds but was held to only 9 points in the last meeting. If these two can get it going they will have a good chance to take down the Golden Flashes.

Golden Flashes Looking For Sweep
Kent State took down the Bobcats by 10 points earlier this season and will look to do the same this time out. The Golden Flashes have been scoring 77.2 points per game which is right under the Bobcats total but their defense has been holding teams to 71.4 points. The Golden Flashes will not be able to rely on their solid second half play as the Bobcats are putting up similar numbers, Kent State is scoring 41.1 points in the second half. The Golden Flashes will need to get an early lead as these two will clash in the second half as they both typically find their shot at that point. Kent State will need to win the battle on the boards with their 39.4 rebounds while they have been pulling down 11.3 of those on the offensive end.
The Golden Flashes have been relying on Forward Danny Pippen to get it done for them with 19.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Pippen put up 22 points the last time out against the Bobcats and will need a similar performance to take down the Bobcats who will be hungry for revenge. The Golden Flashes have only lost one game this season when Pippen fails to reach his average of 19.3 points and that was a 2 point loss to the number one team (Toledo) in their conference. The odds are high if Pippen is able to knock down his shots and get it going.

Demon Deacons Going For Second Consecutive Win Over Panthers
The Demon Deacons aren’t playing well at the moment and have lost their last five games. They will try to put an end to their losing streak with a win over the Panthers, which will give them their second win in a row over their rivals.

The red hot Arkansas Razorbacks will head to Columbia, South Carolina to try and extend their win streak to seven. After dropping four of five games and falling to 2-4 in SEC play, the Razorbacks have won nine straight SEC games, including pivotal wins over Florida, Alabama, and LSU.

It's been a tough season for the South Carolina Gamecocks. This team has been forced to go on pause twice due to COVID-19 complications and the team hasn't had a chance to gel. Starting center Alonzo Frink opted out of the season and only two players have participated in every game this season. Nevertheless, this team is coming off a 21-point road victory against Georgia as they look for their first two-game win streak since early January.

Going for SEC Title
While it's a stretch for Arkansas to win a share of the SEC title, it's still possible if they win out and Alabama loses out. Arkansas also had to fend off Florida from overtaking their #2 spot in the conference standings, so this team should have the right mindset going into the last week of conference play. The Razorbacks have been a cover machine. They are 15-7 ATS overall and 11-4 ATS in conference play.
Arkansas comes in with the 33rd ranked offense according to KenPom. Their offense is 126th in field goal percentage, 55th in ball control, 52nd in rebounding, and 80th in free-throw percentage. On the defensive side of the ball, this is the 13th ranked unit. They are 61st in field goal percentage, 60th in steal rate, 75th in three-point percentage allowed, and 84th in two-point percentage allowed.

Moses Moody is the star of this team. He averages 16.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and a steal per game. JD Notae contributes 12.7 points, 3 rebounds, and 1.2 steals, and Justin Smith adds 12.1 points with 6.9 rebounds.

Defending Home Court
The Gamecocks are usually a terrific home team. However, this year this has not been the case as they are just 3-5 at home. Players sitting out due to contract tracing as well as health issues have been a big issue for the Gamecocks, but they haven't had any issues since mid-January. South Carolina plays at the fifth-fastest pace in the nation. The problem for them is that they're allowing 77.4 points per game, while only producing 73.7 on the offensive end.
South Carolina has the 122nd ranked offense. This team ranks 200th or worse in every offensive category outside of rebounding where they rank 38th. Free-throw shooting has been a big issue, shooting just 66.1% which is 307th in the country. On the defensive side of the ball, this is the 84th ranked unit. However, just like on offense, they rank 200th or worse in nearly every category. Where they thrive is turning their opponent over, ranking 27th in this category.

AJ Lawson leads the Gamecocks with 17.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. Keyshawn Bryant contributes 14.4 points with 5.3 rebounds and Jermaine Cousinard adds 10.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.

The Mid-American Conference regular season is winding down as the top eight MAC teams prepare for the upcoming MAC Tournament starting on March 11th. On Tuesday evening, the Ball St. Cardinals and Eastern Michigan Eagles face off at the Worthen Arena in Muncie, Indiana. Coming into the game, Ball St. is eighth place in the conference at 7-8 (9-11 overall) while Eastern Michigan is 10th in the conference at 2-10 (5-11). Both teams are coming off wins on Saturday with Ball St. beating CMU 97-91 on Saturday and Eastern Michigan taking out NIU 91-57.

Can Ball St. Keep its Offense Rolling?
After beating Kent St. and CMU over their last two games, the Cardinals have to feel confident coming into this game, especially with that win over Kent St., who are currently tied for second place in the MAC. On the year, the Cardinals are only 6-4 at home but since this will be their final home game of the season, they’ll be motivated to grab a W. In their favor is the fact that they’re facing an EMU squad that is 0-7 on the road on the season. Ball St. has also won the last three meetings against the Eagles, including three in a row ATS.
Ball St. had a heck of a week on offense last week, averaging 93.5 points on 55% shooting over their last two game. Part of that started with guard Jarron Coleman, who became the first Ball St. this year to win the MAC Player of the Week Award. He averaged 25 points and six assists in their two victories last week, but that was not even the most impressive offensive performance of the week. Those bragging rights go to guard Ismael El-Amin who dropped 33 points on 10-17 shooting versus CMU.

EMU Out of the MAC Tournament
This is their second to last game of the season and, unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done for the Eagles to make it into the MAC Tournament as this year’s modification allows only the top eight teams to get in. They can’t even play spoiler since Ball St. has already locked up eighth place in the MAC. Prior to beating NIU, a team that has only won two games overall this season, the Eagles had lost seven straight games so this just has not been a good season for them.
Be that as it may, EMU has proven they can put up points as evidenced by their 71.1 points per game average as well as dropping 91 on NIU on Saturday. Guard Noah Morgan put up a season high 22 points while Yeikson Montero added another 20 and Ty Groce had a double double with 15 points and 10 boards. One thing EMU does well on offense is shoot effectively from the FT line, averaging 76.2% on the season, good for 31st in the nation. On the other hand, they are not so hot ATS this season, going 4-9 overall.

The Bowling Green Falcons, rejuvenated with a four-game winning streak, will host the Miami Redhawks in a Mid American Conference matchup on Tuesday evening. There is only one position separating these two in the MAC standings.

Redhawks fall back to 0.500 in conference play
Season form
The Redhawks have not had a very good season so far even though they are over 0.500. Overall, they are 11-10 but seventh in the MAC standings with a 8-8 conference record. In their previous game, they were beaten 64-51.

Dae Dae Grant has led the scoring for the Redhawks this season, with 13.5 points per game in close to 30 minutes at a field goal percentage of 41%. The passing has been led by Mekhi Lairy, who has managed 3.3 assists per game.

The Redhawks have managed to score as many as they concede. They have scored an average of 72.2 points per game, 178th in the country. Defensively, they have allowed 71.1 points a game.

Bowling Green continue to impress with four-game winning run
Season form
The Falcons have been excellent in non-conference play but they are still sixth in the MAC standings despite owning a 14-9 season record. They are 10-7 in MAC play, and have won their last four games, including an 83-71 win against Akron in the previous game.

As reported by AP: Justin Turner had 19 points and six rebounds as Bowling Green topped Akron 83-71 on Friday night. Kaden Metheny had 15 points for Bowling Green (14-9, 10-7 Mid-American Conference), which earned its fourth straight win. Caleb Fields added 13 points.

The Falcons have built their success around their offense, which averages 79 points per game, 42nd in the country. They have also allowed just 75.1 points per game, which gives them a handy points differential in their games.
