The Cleveland Cavaliers host the Indiana Pacers Wednesday night at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio, beginning at 7 pm EST. The Pacers are currently favored by 6-points, down from 6.5-points at the opening, while the total sits at 216.5-points, up from 216 at the opening.

The Pacers have really stunk it up as of late losing their last 4 games with their most recent being against the Philadelphia 76ers Monday night as the road team allowed the 76ers to outscore them 72-45 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters en route to the 16-point road defeat. The Pacers shot 48% from the field as Malcolm Brogdan led with 20 points on 9-17 shooting while Edmond Sumner came off the bench to post at points in 28 minutes of play. However, the team was not able to overcome 57% shooting by Philadelphia (15 treys) as they fell 3-games below .500 on the year. The Pacers also failed to cover for the 4th-straight games as 3.5-point dogs.

The Cavaliers have suddenly reeled off 4-straight wins as they were able to take out a struggling Houston Rockets team Monday night by 11 points as Collin Sexton posted 39 points while dishing out 8 assists in the win. The guard was also responsible for 4 of the team's 10 3-pointers as the Cavaliers shot 48% as a team. And while John Wall posted 32 for the contest while Victor Oladipo also chipped in 20, Houston shot only 41% from the field along with 32% from long-range. The Cavaliers covered the spread for the 4th-straight game as 3-point dogs.

The Pacers will take the floor seeking to win their 4th-straight versus Cleveland, including their 2nd-straight on the road. Indiana is also 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10 meetings versus Cleveland, including going 2-2-1 against the number in their last 5 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

Pacers seek to end skid versus Cavaliers
Brogdan returned to the lineup to post 20 or more for the 4th time in 5 starts for the Pacers while Domantas Sabonis posted 15 points for the 2nd-straight game while committing a total of 4 turnovers in the double-digit loss to the 76ers. Important to note that the center has had issues with turnovers as of late posting 28 in his last 6 starts. Justin Holiday went 4-8 from long-range for 12 points and is shooting 42% from deep on the season, however, while Miles Turner posted 11 as the offense for the Pacers racked up 114 points.

However, the defense for Indiana, which is allowing 121 points during their horrible 4-game stretch, allowed over 50% shooting to Philadelphia as they were destroyed from the perimeter throughout. They now look to get back on track versus the Cleveland offense that enters with some confidence after putting up a string of wins lately. It should be mentioned, however, that the Pacers have only given up an average of 104 points in their last 4 meetings.

The Pacers gave up 99 points to the Cavaliers in their last matchup December of last year with Sexton finishing with 28 on 12-19 shooting while posting 119 points on 48% shooting as the team nailed 16 treys in the 20-point home victory. Indiana also boasted 6 double-digit scorers with Sabonis leading the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds on 10-14 shooting while Doug McDermitt along with Brogdan posted 18 and 17 points, respectively. Brogdan, however, shot 5-13 FG for the contest.

Sexton continues to shine
With Taurean Prince being questionable for this contest, Matthew Delavedova along with Andre Drummond all being out indefinitely in addition to Kevin Love nearing a return to the lineup soon, the Cavaliers needed a severe shot in the arm after dropping 10-straight at one point during the month of February. Sexton heard the call and has since been virtually unstoppable in the last 4 for Cleveland averaging 33 points during this time. And while the guard continues to be shaky with protecting the ball (17 turnovers in 4 outings), Sexton is making 49% of his shots on the year along with connecting on 40% from deep.

Wall and Oladipo had issues guarding Sexton all night as he not only went 12-20 from the field, but, was also able to get to the line a total of 15 times, making 11. “He was not going to let us lose,” head coach J.B. Bickerstaff told Cleveland.com of Sexton. “They (Houston) do make it tough on you because they have some good individual defenders and they switch with length and it turns into where you have to beat your man. Collin has the ability to beat his man. He was awesome for us tonight.”

Again, Sexton was also awesome in the team's last matchup versus the Pacers with 28 points to lead the offensive charge while Darius Garland, who is coming off a 5-13 shooting night (0-3 3FG) versus Houston for 14 points, chipped in 21 points while going 5-7 from long-range. However, Cleveland also turned the ball over 18 times (6 by Garland) while defense for the Cavaliers also let them down on this night as Indiana made 16 3-pointers.

The Philadelphia 76ers host the Utah Jazz at Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Wednesday night beginning at 7 pm EST. Currently, the Jazz are favored by 3.5-points, up from 2-5-points at the opening, while the total stands at 227.5-points, up from 226.5.

The Jazz lost some of their momentum while on their current 4-game road trip as they dropped 2 of 3 after being taken out by the New Orleans Pelicans Monday night. And while the Jazz were able to go up by 5 at the break, New Orleans went on a 3rd quarter run while holding off a late rally by Utah to drop the Jazz to 27-8 on the year. Despite having 4 20+ point scorers led by Bojan Bogdanovich with 31, the defense for Utah was uncharacteristically horrible giving up 57% shooting to the Pelicans while also shooting 64% from deep. The Jazz failed to cover the spread as 7-point favorites while going 3-2 ATS in their last 5, overall.

The 76ers enter this contest winners of 3 of 4 as they were able to atone for a 3-point overtime loss at home last Saturday night by beating up on the Indiana Pacers Monday night. The 76ers dominated the 2nd and 3rd periods thanks to a huge performance by Joel Embiid along with solid minutes off the bench from Shake Milton along with Furkan Korkmaz, who ended with 26 and 19 points, respectively. With the win, Philadelphia remained a half-game ahead of the Brooklyn Nets for tops in the Atlantic division. The 76ers were able to cover as 3.5-point favorites and are 4-2 ATS in their last 6.

Each of these teams have picked up 5 wins in their last 10 meetings with the 76ers winning 3 of 4 at Wells Fargo Arena. Philadelphia is also 7-3 ATS in their last 10 versus the Jazz while going 3-1 against the number in their last 4 at home.

Jazz seeks to go .500 on road trip
Utah has, and continues to be one of the hottest teams in the league currently as they hold a commanding 7 game lead for 1st place in the Northwest division. However, their current 4-game road trip has humbled the team as their offense has continued to post big number (122 points in last 3), yet, their defense, which ranks as one of the best in the league, had been pushed around a bit in losses to the Miami Heat and the Pelicans as the team is giving up 122 points while dropping 2 of 3.

They now match up versus a 76ers team that is coming off a 130-point output versus the Pacers in addition to posting 123 on the road in an 11-point loss mid-February. Philadelphia shot 50% in this contest while sinking just 8 of 23 treys as Ben Simmons (42 points, 12 assists, 9 rebounds) along with Tobias Harris (36 points, 10 rebounds) led the scoring charge on efficient shooting night. Harris also went 3-5 from long-range in the defeat while Embiid did not suit up for this contest.

On the other hand, the Jazz boasted 6 double-digit scorers with Jordan Clarkson leading the way off the bench with 40 points while going 8-13 from deep. Donovan Mitchell along with Joe Ingles finished with 24 and 20 points, respectively, while accounting for 4 of the team's 18 3-pointers while Bogdanovich and Gobert each put in 11 points on a combined 7-15 shooting.

76ers seek 2nd-straight win
With Harris not being able to suit up due to a knee injury, the 76ers could not afford to drop 2-straight versus the Pacers. The team was able to rely on 24 and 13 from Embiid along with 18 from Simmons in addition to getting solid minutes off the bench from the tandem of Milton along with Korkmaz, who combined for 9 of the team's 15 3-pointers. In all, Philadelphia will certainly need this type of output from their bench moving forward as their success adds an entirely different dimension to the squad.

“It’s what we need,” said coach Doc Rivers to SixersWire. “We’re still working with that group trying to figure out what we can run that fits us the best. We ran some good stuff. I think our guys saw it, they kept running it. They kept finding each other so it’s nice and when those two play well off our bench, we’re pretty tough.” Tough is what the 76ers have been as of late picking up wins in 5 of their last 7, overall.

Milton was recovering from injury in their matchup versus the Jazz last month while Korkmaz went scoreless in the contest while going 0-5 from the field (0-2 3FG). As I pointed out earlier, Embiid did not suit up for the contest as Harris and Simmons accounted for 78 of the team's 123 points. Seth Curry and Dwight Howard went a combined 10-18 FG for 11 and 14 points, respectively, with Howard also pulling down 12 boards.

Detroit lost its last outing, a 109-90 result against the Knicks on February 28. The Pistons failed to cover in that game as a +1.5-point underdog, while the 199 combined points took the game UNDER the total.

The Toronto Raptors and the Detroit Pistons take the floor at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, for a Wednesday night Eastern Conference matchup beginning at 7:30 pm EST. Toronto is currently favored by 9-points while the total stands at 215.5-points, up from 215 at the opening.

The Pistons enter this contest losers of 3-straight after falling at home Sunday night to the New York Knicks by 19-points as the defense gave up 50% shooting to the visitors both from the field as well as from long-range. Furthermore, the offense posted less than 100 points for the 3rd time in 6 outings mustering just 90 points on a dismal 38% shooting while they connected on just 9 of 32 attempts from deep. Jerami Grant had 4 of the team's 15 turnovers, yet, led the team with 21 points on 7-19 shooting, including 2-9 3FG. The team failed to cover the spread for the 2nd-straight game as 1-point dogs and are just 2-5 ATS in the last 7 games.

After winning 4-straight games, the Raptors have suddenly dropped 2 of their last 3 games. To make matters worse, their Sunday night contest versus Chicago Bulls was postponed due to a number of coaches and players testing positive for covid-19. Nonetheless, they are coming off an 11-point home win over the Houston Rockets last Friday night as Norman Powell accounted for 4 treys while posting 30 points in addition to Kyle Lowry along with Fred VanVleet also posting 20+ in the victory. Pascal Siakam did not suit up and is out indefinitely due to being under the league's health and safety protocols.

The Raptors have won 3-straight versus the Pistons, including 3 of 4 at home. Each of these squads has split the spread in their last 1o meetings while going 2-2 ATS in the last 4 meetings at Amalie Arena.

Pistons continue to stink on offense
Detroit's offense continues to sink to new lows as the unit is now averaging 99 points per game in their last 6 games. The Pistons were stifled on the offensive end by a resurgent New York team at home in their last matchup as their most consistent scorer in Grant turned the ball over 4 times while shooting just under 40% for the contest. In fact, aside from Mason Plumlee going 4-5 from the floor, the remainder of the starters shot a combined 13-45 FG while missing 19 of 24 attempts from long-range.

Things have not been much better on the offensive end for Detroit in recent meetings versus Toronto either with the Pistons failing to score 100 points in each of their last 2 matchups. Furthermore, in their last 4 road outings versus the Raptors, the Pistons are averaging just 96 points.

On the other hand, their defense has done fairly well during a horrid, 7 -game stretch allowing just over 110 points per game. However, the Raptors have had some big offensive outings in recent meetings versus the Pistons averaging 116 points in their last 4, including posting 125 in their last matchup resulting in a 12-point win in October of 2019.

Raptors suddenly hit hard by pandemic issues
Again, the Raptors look to take the court for the 1st time since last Friday's win over the Rockets; However, will the team have the required number of players to take the court remains a mystery as just before their contest with the Bulls, this was certainly the case. Via SI.com, "Because of positive test results and ongoing contact tracing within the Raptors, the team will not have the league-required eight available players to proceed with the scheduled game against the Bulls."

And while Siakam has already been ruled out due to a positive covid-19 test result, it is unsure as to who the Raptors will dress out in this contest. Head coach Nick Nurse along with a number of his assistants are also unavailable due to positive test results. Also, SI.com reported that the Pistons' charter flight from Detroit to Tampa for this afternoon was cancelled. However, the report stated that the NBA has yet to announce if the game will be postponed.
