Good news - you got the #1 pick in the draw!
Good news - you got the #1 pick in the draw!
And . . . congratulations, you won the "trophy" for "best" draft! Bad news - I took McCaffrey. And for my next pick - Kittle. And now, because "The Rule of Three's"- my top receiver Chark is out, too. It's gonna be a long season. Only two weeks in and my goal has already changed from "finishing first" to "just make the playoffs." Still, it is a whole lot of fun.

It has been a crazy 2 weeks for sure. I think every one of us has been hit with injuries

If you “just make the playoffs” and have those guys back.....

Yeah, a crazy season so far, the lack of preseason is no doubt adding to the injury list.
And yeah, if I get those guys back and get in the playoffs I can make a run at it. IF I make the playoffs. No complaints though, like I said, it's a lot of fun. I could be 2-0 if I had used my personal differently, left too many pts on the bench, but, that's part of the game, same thing happens to everyone. The year I finished 2nd I took a chance with an early pick, that new QB at KC in his first year as a starter. I was SO tempted to take Edwards-Helaire with the first pick this year, believing that you have to take some risks to do well, but, in the end I couldn't say no to McCaffrey, remembering how much he screwed me over the past two seasons while he was on someone else's team. Hurtin' at RB, but I have two great backups, Mattison in Minn and a guy I really like, Edwards in Az. Not that I wish injury on anybody, but I'd be okay with a slight ankle sprain on Drake putting him out for a week or two. It would give Edwards the opportunity to show he should be the starter. Playing the first place team this week, staring at a projected pt total dif of over 20 - yes, I know their pt projections suck - but with my battered lineup, I'm staring at 0-3, too. Maybe the fun starts next week? Good luck on your seasons (except the week you play me.)

Of course losing Kittle isn't that big of a problem cuz I've got Goedert as my backup at TE, and he's actually leading the Eagles in receptions.
Wait, what? Goedert just got hurt and now he's out too??!! When it rains . . .

Three guesses who my QB is, the first two don't count.
Yup. Dak. This morning I found a letter on my desk. It said: Trade us. Please! Signed, Everyone who is NOT hurt yet on your Fantasy Team.

When it rains - it pours...
I was, what - down by 18-20 pts to you going into the game? Keenan Allen catches a TD on the opening possession, brings me within 8 pts or so, with the whole game ahead of me, and Allen & the Saints LB Davis in play to get me what looks to be a win. But . . . So, Allen is out, and I have a LB left. It was fun though, a battle all the way. I even caught a break and got OT, needed 2 solo tackles or a sack, but couldn't get it, lost by 1.71. And . . . I had Claypool on the bench (I looked at him, but went with Chark in the end. And Chark, naturally got hurt and left the game, too.) Worse, "woulda-coulda-shoulda" second guessing comes from dropping Houston LB Cunningham and picking up Davis. I did it because last week they had Zach listed questionable, game time decision, so I dropped him for Davis. He ended up playing that week, and got picked up by Monty. Had they not listed him as Q, I wouldn't have dropped him. And . . . he scored 10.5 on Sunday, enough to have given me a win. I know we all deal with injuries, but I think every one of my first five picks are either out or missed multiple games. Ugh! But, ultimately, it's on me - I had enough points to win every game except one, I'm just not choosing the right lineups. Still, a lot of fun, but I have my work cut out for me if I'm going to make the playoffs. I get McCaffrey back next week, G Bays' Tonyan is looking like a stud and he's back this week, I made the right call on drafting Az's Edmonds, thinking he would take over as starter for a mediocre Drake, and it looks like Claypool may be the new go-to guy for Big Ben. Tough part of the schedule is behind me, all I need is for my lineup to stop turning into the Walking Dead . . .

I do not have Melvin Gordon on my roster.
So I've got that going for me.
