Brosseau homered on the 10th pitch of that plate appearance

That's the most pitches into a plate appearance that Chapman has allowed a home run in his career (regular season or postseason)

The pitch Brosseau hit for a home run was 100.2 MPH ... The fastest pitch hit by a Tampa batter in pitch tracking history (since 2008)

In this series, 34 of the 45 runs were scored on home runs.

That 75.6% of runs via HR is the highest in any playoff series of 3+ games all-time.

Aroldis Chapman is the first reliever in MLB history to record a loss in an elimination game in back-to-back seasons

In the last calendar year, Chapman has given up 4 HR

Two of them ended the Yankees season

Tonight's Rays win over the Yankees was the first playoff game in MLB history in which both teams had 10+ strikeouts and 3 hits or fewer.

Final post of the thread ...

The Yankees' World Series drought extends to 11 years ... And it’ll stay that way for a while. Cashman has built a team that relies too much on home runs, not enough contact hitters and too many guys who constantly strikeout.

Time for a new GM and Manager ... until then, same results.
