Mountain West “aggressively exploring” options for 8-game fall season culminating with Dec. 19 MW title game.

This allows league to be eligible for NY6 bowls.

Not all schools might play with Hawaii, Fresno & Air Force biggest unknowns for full season.

Mountain West optimistic about playing 8-game schedule starting Oct. 24, with presidents possibly voting Friday.

If presidents delay vote, MW likely would only have 7-game schedule starting Oct. 31.

All 12 schools intend to play.

Mountain West did not say yet if all members will be playing.

More information to come in the morning, league says.

Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson expects all 12 schools to be ready for Oct. 24 start, despite some state or local restrictions.

"It might be a little premature but at this point everybody is making every attempt and effort to get those clearances."

Keep an eye on New Mexico ... they are battling with their governor ........

Along with New Mexico, Hawaii still has some steps to go and there have been discussions about those restrictions.

Craig Thompson says. "We're optimistic, and hopefully, there'll be a resolution before Oct 24."

MW commissioner Thompson confirms "high 30s" number of Air Force players have taken a "turnback" and aren't available this season.

Brent Briggeman (Air Force beat writer for The Gazette in Colorado Springs) reports most of those players are on defense.
