The Championship game should say 5, not 3. I looked last year and that is what i had. I adjusted that.

gotcha, thanks. We have always used that scoring at cappersmall on ESPN.

I just prefer to be rewarded for picking the winner or final 4 teams than the coin flips in round 1.

possible points using that below. 48 of 74pts are won in RD 1+2. I would say that def weighs RD 1+2 wins way more than picking the right final 4 or winner

Rd 1-32
RD 2- 16
RD 3- 8
RD 4- 8
RD 5- 6
RD 6- 5

Most people will be within 5-6 points of each other after the 1st 32 games so it will be tight going in to the following rounds. Those who always get the sweet 16 and elite 8 games right take the lead but if they can not finish it off in the final 4 and title game, it is usually not enough. I have used that scoring system for about 15 years and it is really tight every year in the standings. I like that because everyone still feels like they are in it and it is almost always decided by the final 3 games.

That's okay, it's not for you i guess.

Think the way we used to do was 1/2/4/8/16/32. Have to have a chance to win if you get final 4/champ correct.
I agree with Ryan, I dont know why youre using that site or scoring Wayne, but didnt want to argue

Well I used that site because it is 1 of 2 I use for pools/contests and I hate ESPN. I also didn’t want both at the same site in case it confused people. That goes for scoring too. I already had my format listed so figured I would just use it for both.

I cant complain if you are organizing it, I dont want to do that

but the scoring ryan is talking about is the typical way, with doubling each round

the latter rounds being weighted much higher

The default at each site was 1 point for every round. I weighted it and changed it up. That is interesting cuz I have never played in 1 where the title game is equal to all 32 1st round games. It sounds like you have no chance unless you have the winner. I guess some like that and some don’t.

Damn you guys really threw me a curveball with that one. Hahaha

I like checking the standings after each day to see movement but in that scoring the only thing that would seem to matter is whether or not you had the winner. That makes the rest of the bracket kind of meaningless.

I wish you would have said something last night though before people started signing up. I would have had no problem changing things up some.

not exactly but it does weigh each round higher

say a team like duke, maybe 25% of the field will have them as champs

1
2
3
4
5
10

I will change it but I do not want to go any more drastic than that since people have already signed up
