No emotion = UNDERS

Looking for alot of unders today. Teams playing with no fans and players playing with uncertainty to this whole process along with them possibly being afraid of this virus means alot of unders today. All of us who have played competitive sports know that there is alot of energy with crowds. There will be none of that now. Players have other things on their mind. Will play the unders today if I play anythimg at all.

IMO - I was thinking about this for a couple days and I’m thinking that free throw percentages may increase bc of lack of distractions at the line due to no crazies waving giant heads - lol - what do I know - good luck Pal!!

I disagree 100%. Playing in front of an empty arena is like practice. Nobody likes practice. These guys have egos and like to play it up for the fans. Why do you think the home team always has the advantage. Sorry Cali you obviously can't relate or never played the game.

This is exactly my humble opinion, it will be more of a pick up game, LESS defensive intensity..

CG Technology risk analyst Will Bernanke

Bernanke believes empty arenas could lead to more points scored and favor more experienced teams.

"I would look at a couple of factors that will come into play. An experienced team will adapt well as they usually perform well on the road. I will look at the leadership and that will give me an indication as to how poised they will be in the unusual circumstance.

"The games could see more scoring as players will be less distracted at the free-throw line with the quiet arena. Teams that shoot well from (beyond the arc) and the free-throw line could benefit as well."

DraftKings oddsmaker Johnny Avello.

“I do think I would adjust the totals,” Avello said, adding he’d bump them a tad higher.

“I just think there’s going to be more scoring,” Avello said. “Players to me are going to be less nervous and more focused.”

Avello says he thinks it will affect the refs in that they will be able to call a clearer game, another reason why he says he would boost the totals because he believes more fouls would be called across the board.

“You would know it was a foul because you could hear the slap on the arm,” Avello said.

Collin Wilson (analyst at Sports Insights) ...

“Some players are fantastic in a rec gym and don’t care who is cheering for them. "

Ok guys.... another point.... these guys gave been playing in front if crowds since 6th grade. This will be all new to them. Crowds pump you up. Do they even do introductions? Introductions amp up players as well. Will be interesting.

Still always makes me chuckle that people who don’t ever post picks are ready to pass judgement on those that do. Seems a little hypocritical.

Having a horrible year, no question, but i think this will be my 2nd or 3rd year documented, in the last 10 years plus, that I have had a losing record. If that makes me square, bring it on

Keep doing what you do and I will continue to do what I do.

Good lock today

It was nothing against you, was just stating to somebody possibly looking for under plays, you aren't the guy.

I don't pay any attention to your record so have no clue how you are doing

maybe in your world. i don't think over or under bettors necessarily define square

same thing with favorites or underdogs... although we all know the square play more often than not in these cases is the fav (not always though)

sharp is getting the winning side, at preferably the best possible price.

why am i even arguing with you here lol. anyone stupid enough to go after a poster like Gerk obviously is clueless anyway

JC ... you are all as soft as baby shit.

Sorry ... Gerk is a tremendous over bettor and I was out of line opening my mouth.

The consensus around here lately is i'm clueless. I get it. I know nothing.

This is my last post on all of this because I don't have time or desire to continue this conversation.

I come on every day and post my picks. I don't go into other people's threads and make comments. I don't come on and flaunt if I have a good day. Some people on here post one winner and you would think that they went 40-0.

Me concentrating mostly on overs is me analyzing a specific sector and trying to capitalize on it.

I post mostly overs on the NBA and NHL and my records this year on both are pretty damn good, and have been historically on here. People who have been here awhile know my record and success rate.

I have always tried to stay out of controversy and the new BS that goes on here.

Maybe a break in sports is good for all of us.

Just offering some thoughts on this now boring day w/out the morning hoops we all looked forward to.

Generalizing does not work in this situation, what works for one may not work for others.

One of the sharps I know only plays Unders in college hoops. In fact, he makes his living off it. Why? Because he knows his strengths and weaknesses and he has success betting on Unders in college, so he sticks with what works. No Overs, no NBA.

I keep a logbook of my play. Have for well over a decade.
I do this so I can track my play, see where I am profitable and where I'm not. In college football I have much more success isolating spots for Unders than Overs. I play both Overs and Unders, but I'm not square if I focus play on where I historically have proven to be stronger and only played Unders. I'd actually be smarter/more profitable if I did. And if I didn't have a career, and was trying to make a living by betting on sports, I would only play Unders. (But I like to play Overs, they're more fun, and you may get OT to help if your original analysis is off.)

So, again, it's not something that can be generalized, to paint all bettors with the same brush.
A guy who plays nothing but big $ favs in MLB and loses IS square.
But if it works for someone else, good for him.

Now, for the real problem - what the hell are we going to do for action cravings today? NHL??!!

This would be a good time for me to let you all know....as I read on this... I thank you guys so much for the time you take to be on here...

A square is nothing more than a foundation for which one can utilize as leverage to see just how strong he or she's picks being valid.... and the 14 years I have been on here... YOU Gerk...and YOU NYK...

are truly the foundations of Cappersmall that allow pillars like myself to advance in life... you guys may not think much of what you type in here...but because of you my life is affected positively.... keep doing what you guys do... because I appreciate the shit out of both of you...

w00t!
