On Twitter, sports reporter in Cincy says he has a pulse now but is not breathing on his own. CPR and an AED ws used on the field.

I think all we can do is pray for Damar Hamlin and his family. I'm in shock and I'm scared he's gonna die. Unbelievable really. Really makes life come into focus.
Nothing is more important than life. Not this game not Winning or losing money. Just life. That's it.

Thoughts and prayers for Damar this morning

At some point they will have to decide what to do with the game moving forward. I don’t even know what is possible with that. Aside from the horrible thing that happened last night, the game was big in the nfl playoff picture/seeding. You could play it this weekend but what about the week 18 game they were supposed to play? Both of those matter too. Do you move the whole playoffs back a week?

Obviously the biggest concern is for Damar but these questions will all have to be answered and I am sure they are being discussed. I just don’t know what the answer will be.

Things will not be the same after what happened last night.
It will bring a new perspective to the safety of players that we never thought would happen.
It’s always been about head trauma.
Where does this lead us to?
I’ve been watching the NFL for 40 years and I am still trying to wrap my head around what I witnessed last night.

I have heard stories of cardiac events in high school games or practices. It has happened but not on this level and national tv. I don’t think much can be done to prevent it or anything will change to be honest. It is a freak accident of sorts that you simply cannot prevent or see coming

People have mentioned a possible pre existing condition or just a freak accident with a hit to the exact wrong area at the exact right time. I don’t think much will or can change from this. We just need to keep him in our thoughts and hope he can recover from it

Chuck Hughes died on the field of a cardiac event playing for the lions in 71.

As a high school coach I’ve witnessed an official go down and our head coach save his life with an AED and CPR. That was 7 years ago and amazingly the guy is back officiating now

Also had a kid get hit, not a hard hit, but it caused him to have a stroke. Thought we lost him that night, roughest thing I’ve been a part of in sports. Kid survived and is doing well. Earned a ton of respect for Fitzgerald at Northwestern over that, he had been offered a full scholarship to play linebacker and Coach Fitz kept him on scholarship full four years, basically to be a manager

As for this game itself, let the players decide if they want to go back and play or not.

Im not sure if they did this or not but the best thing to have done is keep Buffalo in Cincy last night. If they find out he is OK and out of critical condition in a timely manner you play the game tonight. If there is no new information on his situation then I have no clue what you do.

if they are being honest, and the ONLY thing that really matters is this man`s life,,, then the game is called and designated a "TIE".

Well, games are going to be played either way this weekend and next week and next year. Not sure why this wouldn’t be one of them at some point
