NFL exec Jeff Pash says they're planning on having a full season and starting on time.

Pash says he can't be certain but that's the plan.

Speaking Thursday, the NFL's chief medical officer said the league's return would depend on the availability of widespread testing.

Dr. Allen Sills:

"As long as we're still in a place where when a single individual tests positive for the virus that you have to quarantine every single person who was in contact with them in any shape, form or fashion, then I don't think you can begin to think about reopening a team sport."

Sills' comments apply to every North American sport. It is going to be hard to get our sports back as long as testing remains so laborious and rationed. As bleak as things look now, a lot can change in a month or two.

Well he better realize that that jackass maybe doing a good enough job so far and he really is but if he doesn't take the moratorium off here in California after he gets the all-clear from the health experts and the president he could get his ass recalled.

I was kind of taking back the first time that I heard him say this I don't know what else to say.
This man looks out the numbers every day and every night that's the last thing he looks at when he goes to bed and that's the first thing he looks at when he gets up I get it he is doing a great job but he can't keep this moratorium on the table even after he gets the all-clear from everybody else that's got me worried because of what Washington state has just done with the Seahawks stadium. The Seahawks Stadium is now a makeshift Hospital and that's got me worried here because he's looking at other big venues.why doesn't he take the venues that are not no longer occupied he's already turned Sleep Train Arena into one and he can do the same thing with the Oakland Coliseum Arena that the Warriors left he doesn't need to take one that is still occupied he needs to wait to get the word on that sport being canceled before he takes the Coliseum and make it a hospital and the same thing with Levi Stadium he has a bunch of places that are no longer occupied he needs to look at those instead of places that still have sports but are still going through postponement

the chance keeps getting slimmer and slimmer as fears of a second term of whatever this shit is will keep us from big social gatherings

cases need to start dropping and dropping all over the country , period
then some type of treatment and or preventative medicine is needed

if those all don't happen , no way will they put 70-100 k people in a stadium

I just presumed they would play in empty stadiums. Like all other sports are doing at the moment and have planned.

"Especially after the Dr. says round two could happen this fall."

The Fall.
Election time. How convenient.

Well, no biggie. It's not as if this concerned-about-health-issues-only, "non-political animal" will come out and push for a dem hot button issue such as vote by mail.

Oh, wait - he did, this weekend.
What a coincidence.

(Of course this was after he told tapper on cnn that lives could have been saved if the administration had taken his advice in mid-February and acted sooner, which was right before he came out and dropped all pretense of impartiality when he went on msnbc and told sharpton the president didn't heed his advice in January. And of course NEITHER network did or will show the tape of fauci on Feb 29 saying, "There is no need to change anything, the virus is not a threat to the public at large" or mention his co-authored article in the New England Journal of Medicine predicting: "The fatality rate for the coronavirus will turn out to be no worse than that of a “severe seasonal flu.”)

The facade is fading as more background info on him comes out (clinton/gates) and his duplicity is on display for anyone who is well-rounded in info gathering. It won't be long before the pretense is dropped entirely and he becomes the cnn-type media complex's leading voice of a political agenda posed as health-related requirements necessary to "save the nation!"

Reported by Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand and Ben Fischer, the NFL is developing several different variations of the 2020 schedule to account for whatever scenarios may result from the shutdown.

For instance, one version could begin five weeks later than would have normally been scheduled, kicking off Thursday, Oct. 15. That would push Super Bowl LV, set to be played in Tampa, back three weeks to Feb. 28. To accommodate the abbreviated schedule, the regular season would have no bye weeks and eliminate the off-week between the conference championship games and Super Bowl.

This scenario would eliminate the Pro Bowl, a development that likely wouldn’t disappoint many football fans (though the all-star exhibition still draws strong ratings), yet could complicate some contract incentives for teams and players.

A 16-game, 17-week regular season schedule is still viewed as a priority, however.

The 2020 NFL schedule could be released as early as May 7, but league executives are wary of releasing anything that could change due to any number of factors. But maintaining business as usual is viewed as important to TV partners, sponsors, and ticket holders.

Additionally, the league doesn’t want the bad perception that would come with proceeding contrarily to whatever edicts various governors may have in place for their respective states regarding stay-at-home orders and restrictions on large gatherings.

Gov. Cuomo was asked today during his media briefing whether Bills training camp in July was still feasible.

His response: "I'll tell you at the end of June."
