this draft class isn't even close to last years at most skill positions and especially at QB. Lance would be the overwhelming #1 draft pick if he hadn't come out last year.

and lol why do I keep hearing h Bridgewater name. I'm sorry but he's the exact type of QB you avoid. weak arm , and getting old

Teddy canít stay on the field, and wentz come up small in big moments. Plenty of Qb talent in the draft, itís just not as polished- nfl ready, some upside arm talent and athletic ability.

The home run in this draft for Pittsburgh would be Kenny Pickett. He is the clear top QB in this draft imo and he reminds me a lot of Justin Herbert. Every other QB behind him is a hit or miss imo. Many have upside but nobody knows if that equates to anything in the NFL. Pickett is polished and ready for whoever drafts him

You are nothing in this league without a top QB and if I was Pittsburgh I would move up as high as I could to get him. He would be a week 1 starter and locked in for 10 years. I donít feel great saying that about any of the others. Problem is Pickett will be a top 5-8 pick and Iím not sure Pittsburgh has what it takes to move up that far

I agree, I also think he's the best QB in the draft, many years ago the Steelers could have taken a QB from Pitt, but they passed on him and the Dolphins took him late in the first round, his name was Dan Marino and as they say, the rest is history. Now I'm not saying Pickett is another Marino, he's not, but I think if the Steelers pass on this kid they'll end up regretting it. From what I'm hearing Tomlin wants a mobile QB which is why they've been linked to Malik Willis, he's by far the best athlete of all the QB's and has a strong arm, but I've seen Pickett play numerous times and I agree he looks like another Justin Herbert, they even have similar body types

The problem for the steelers is they have the #20 pick. pickett and willis will be both gone by the #11 pick. Carolina , denver, or washington will definitely grab them both. if the steelers really want either one of them they will have to give up way too much to trade up with any of those 3 teams . steelers may have to trade for a veteran QB or draft someone other than willis or pickett. the steelers don't look like they have the leverage to move up in the top 10 .

Sure everyone here wants Pickett, Iíve watched every snap heís taken at Pitt, and he is very mobile, as most young qbs are. No one knows him better then the Steelers who share their facility with Pitt. See him all the timeÖ..Pitt can trade up if they want too, but they donít like to overpay, got a little burnt by trading up 10 spots for Bush (10th overall), but if the went from 20th to 10th to draft a Inside Linebacker they better do so for QB.

I know Pickett is likely to be gone by 20, but the onlt time I would ever trade up is to get a QB, and if the Steelers need to overpay to get one, they should do it, every team that moves up to get a QB seemingly overpays, but you gotta do what you gotta do. The only way I don't move up to get a QB is if a guy like Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers become available, Deshaun Watson would work as well, but don't know about his legal issues

Hey Sweetleaf, have you seen the Terry Bradshaw documentary on HBO? It's called "Terry Bradshaw: Going Deep", it was recorded in Branson, it was very good and entertaining, he talks about his life in and out of football, and sings a few songs, never knew he was a singer, I'm not a Bradshaw or Steeler fan, but it was really good, I never knew how much he disliked Chuck Noll when he was playing for him

I mortgage my future for a QB. Any other position, no. A QB, Yes. Losing a couple 1st round picks won’t matter if they are late 1st round picks and that can also help you with the salary cap if you do not have to pay a couple 1st rounders. Find bargains in FA and draft well in rounds 2-7

Nothing else will matter if you don’t have a franchise QB to build around. Go all in!

Yeah, I did see it. Terry plays a very strange bird, yes chuck was very tuff on him. He didnít even go to chucks funeral, that was big, or Rooneyís and when he finally came back for a tribute at 3 rivers he brought his little daughters on the field with him because he was afraid to get booed by the home crowd again, his first years were tough here and he never forgot. He got booed when played and cheered when he got hurt.

45 million is his cap hit this year actual salary is 35 million. word is that they will restructure his contract to save cap space. new hc O'Connell is familiar with Cousins he was his QB coach his last season in washington. so seems likely cousins will be staying with the vikings at least one more year.

I keep hearing this rumor that Brady will unretire and get traded to SF, it's coming out that him and Arians didn't get along, and it's not like he's washed, guys like Brees and Big Ben were clearly ready to retire, but Brady could have won the MVP last season, he was that good, no reason to think he couldn't play another year or two, which given his age is something I can't even wrap my head around, and think of how much it would help Trey Lance to sit another year and learn from the GOAT. I really think this has legs, I can't see Brady retiring when he knows he still has plenty left in his tank.

None of the above. Manziel would probably sell more tickets if that means anything

If it's Haskins or Rudolph, the Steelers are in trouble, Jameis would be an interesting option, he was putting up good numbers last year before he got hurt, Sean Payton reeled him in and didn't allow him to be reckless with the ball like he was in Tampa, I think he might be a good fit in Pittsburgh

BTW, great hire by them to sign Brian Flores, he might not be the easiest person to get along with, but he's a brilliant defensive mind

I saw another mock draft which seems to think that willis would still be there at #12 for the vikings and they would be willing to take him. Now if that happens maybe the steelers can trade up with the vikings if they really want willis. Vikings have bigger needs on defense right now so i doubt they would pick willis even if he is there for them especially with mond waiting around.

Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to undergo shoulder surgery soon and will be sidelined until this summer, sources told ESPN.

Garoppolo suffered what coach Kyle Shanahan called a "slightly" sprained right (throwing) shoulder in the second quarter of the Niners' wild-card win over Dallas. A separate thumb injury that Garoppolo played through will not require surgery, according to sources.

The shoulder injury is not expected to impact Garoppolo's trade status and he still is likely to be traded this month, according to sources. There is "significant interest" in Garoppolo from multiple teams, sources said.

Preliminary estimates are that Garoppolo is expected to resume throwing sometime prior to the July 4 holiday. If and when a trade is consummated, Garoppolo would be available to begin working with his new coaching and medical staffs.

Might be an issue:

Kenny Pickett's hands measure 8 1/2 inches, smaller than any QB currently in NFL.

Kenny Pickett in dire need need of a Hand Job!

Seriously, if anyone donít draft Pickett because of his hand size is ludicrous. M Willis draft odds for 1st qb drafted went from +140 to -110 after Pickett had hands measured I hope teams are dumb enough to believe this and he drops. Like Narduzzi said, measure the kids heart not his hands.
