Great trade for the Chiefs. They've done pretty good this off season.

This is a good trade for both teams, the Chiefs improve their offensive line by acquiring Orlando Brown, and the Ravens get a few draft picks, plus they're close to signing former Steelers lineman Alejandro Villanueva to a deal to replace Brown, a win/win for both teams

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed wide receiver Antonio Brown to a one-year contract worth up to $6.25 million, Brown's agent, Ed Wasielewski, told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network on Wednesday.

Brown's deal contains $3.1 million fully guaranteed and a $2-million signing bonus.

Aaron Rodgers has the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, and Las Vegas Raiders atop his wish list as he angles for a trade from the Green Bay Packers, a source told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.

All three teams reside on the west coast, where Rodgers was born and raised.

Though the reigning NFL MVP has drawn ample interest on the trade market, no team has officially submitted an offer for him, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Rodgers has reportedly reached his boiling point in Green Bay a year after the franchise traded up in the opening round of the draft to select quarterback Jordan Love.

The 37-year-old Rodgers commented cryptically on his future with the Packers during the last 12 months, but he hasn't explicitly said he wants to leave the organization. The Packers said they intend for Rodgers to remain their quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Rodgers has three seasons remaining on his contract. The Packers reportedly wanted to restructure his deal, but Rodgers refused and instead asked for an extension.

The three-time league MVP led the Packers to NFC Championship Game appearances in 2019 and 2020. He won his only Super Bowl at the end of the 2010 season.

cowherd had an out of the box solution for rogers and the Packers. let Aaron host Jeopardy full time. record the whole season in the NFL off-season. work with him to make it more convenient. he would earn 12-15 million in the off-season and probably would be more open to restructuring his deal to free up cap space. too late apparently

I think SF is a perfect fit for Rodgers. Real close to home and where he went to College. Vegas and Denver make no sense imo. Why would you. I would rather stay in GB. I don’t think those 2 are as close as SF or GB and you face Mahomes in that division. No thanks

NFL Update
Officially, 9 out of 32 first round picks from the 2018 draft did not have their fifth year options picked up: Leighton Vander Esch Billy Price Rashaan Evans Hayden Hurst Rashaad Penny Terrell Edmunds Taven Bryan Mike Hughes Sony Michel + Josh Rosen was cut from his contract.

Iím so happy Steelers didnít pick up option on Terrell Edmunds, he is awful. Weak link of the defense and every-team knows it. His brother who also went in the 1st rd 2019 is a beast for Buffalo. I hear heís motivated now. Bye.

New Baltimore Ravens OT Alejandro Villanueva likes idea of facing former team in Pittsburgh Steelers

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- New Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva says he is looking forward to playing the Pittsburgh Steelers, his former team, while also throwing some shade toward wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Villanueva acknowledged Wednesday at his introductory news conference that he didn't have many options in free agency after hearing from the Steelers that he was not getting re-signed. He listed facing the Steelers as one incentive in joining the onetime rival Ravens.

"The fact that I knew the Ravens is a team that plays hard, a team that plays AFC North-type football and I get a chance to play the Steelers as well was something that motivated me coming here for sure," Villanueva said.

Villanueva signed a two-year, $14 million deal with Baltimore on Tuesday that includes $8 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. He also drew interest from the Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

He becomes the fourth multiple-time Pro Bowl player for the Steelers to play for the Ravens, joining cornerback Rod Woodson, safety Carnell Lake and tight end Eric Green.

As if this AFC North rivalry needed some added fire, Villanueva took a passing shot at Smith-Schuster when asked about the mindset in going to an offense with a drastically different philosophy.

Villanueva said it's better for offensive linemen to play for a run-first team like the Ravens, adding, "I'm assuming it's not as much fun for the receivers because they're not getting all of the catches, they're making the TikToks, and they're having fun on their social media."

Last season, Smith-Schuster gained attention for posting celebratory locker room dances on social media and performing TikTok dances on opposing teams' logos.

This was a great move for the Ravens. The rich get richer!

Villanueva, 32, started at left tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the past six seasons but would fit in with the Ravens' supersized offensive line on the right side. He ranked 18th last season in run block win rate -- three spots higher than Brown (21st) -- which should fit in with a Baltimore offense that ran the ball on a league-high 50.3% of plays from scrimmage last season.

The Ravens also get a safety net for left tackle Ronnie Stanley, who is coming off a season-ending ankle injury and hasn't played a full 16-game season in his five-year career. Villanueva made 90 starts at left tackle from 2015 to 2020 and reached the Pro Bowl in 2017 and 2018.

This potentially gives Baltimore one of the most formidable-looking offensive lines in the league with left tackle Stanley (6-foot-6, 315 pounds), left guard Ben Cleveland (6-6, 357), center Bradley Bozeman (6-5, 325), right guard Kevin Zeitler (6-4, 315) and right tackle Villanueva (6-9, 320).

By signing Villanueva after Monday, he will not cancel out any of Baltimore's compensatory picks. The Ravens are in line for two fourth-round comp picks in the 2022 draft after losing Matthew Judon and Yannick Ngakoue in free agency.

Based on run block rate he was actually ranked 3 spots higher than the pro bowler they traded to KC. One thing is for sure, Baltimore does their homework

The Denver Broncos just lost their right tackle in Ju’Waun James and the connection with Charles Leno and former Bears defensive coordinator and current Broncos head coach Vic Fangio is something to monitor. Colts also could be a possibility for Leno.

Former Steeler Ryan Clark called Alejandro Villanueva his favorite ex Steeler this morning on ESPN. He said he got to know the OL and he was all about going to war and he means real war. He said you will not find a more dedicated man and a better Steeler and he also said his comments about his former team were SPOT ON. He said he has been saying it for a long time now that Pittsburgh has gone away from the dedicated hard nosed tough football team they used to be and that they were more concerned now with leaders on offense making locker room or tik tok videos. Clark said Alejandro Villanueva was exactly right when he threw shade and people like Juju when saying that. He also said the offense lost their toughness when Le'veon Bell left. Alejandro Villanueva told Clark he was the leader for that offensive line and he was the one who inspired them to play tough football and it hasn't been the same since he left

It was noted that he did not mention Ben in that leadership role on offense. No playoff wins in 5 years and missing the playoffs in 2 of the last 3 are an indication that both former Steelers may know what they are talking about

Alejandro Villanueva is a stand up guy and a good football player. I always liked the guy, I think he will do well with the Ravens. Good Luck to him hope he can stay injury free.
