I am somewhat amused at all the posts in this thread that are saying this was a good move for the Giants. Believe me, I am a Giants fan going way back. I understand wanting to get rid of OBJ because he was a cancer. I get it. But they got fleeced here. It was just last year they were saying it would take TWO # 1's for them to trade him. Now they trade him for a 1 (pick # 17) and a 3rd (which by the way is not even the Browns best 3rd round pick and in fact is the LAST pick of the 3rd round). Peppers is OK, but come on.

In the past 12 months the Giants have gotten rid of: Beckham, Snacks Harrison, Landon Collins, Eli Apple, Weston Richburg and Olivier Vernon. They've kept Eli Manning This is NOT the way to re-build a team. Gettlemen is a putz.

Barkley may be the new face of the franchise (I have NO problem with that), but this is going to be one suck-ass team for the foreseeable future.

Keith, The Giants are the 2nd most popular team where i live. There are a ton of fans because before NE came in to the league everyone here was a Giants fan.

I talked to a buddy yesterday and he said the same exact thing. He was really excited to get a QB in the draft to pair with Barkley and OBJ. He is pissed. Pissed that they let Vernon and Collins go and super pissed about Beckham. His words: "So we fuckin get rid of Beckham, Collins & Vernon and keep Eli again? Fuckin bullshit!!!"

I know the Giants got a good haul but if i was a fan, i would not be happy to see a 26 year old Beckham go. The guy is fantastic and the catches he makes? I mean what is there to be excited about?

On the flip side if i am a Browns fan i am waking up today super stoked for the season and i am buying my Beckham jersey!

at the end of the day though Wayne, it is not such a great haul for the Giants. They pretty much had their pocket picked by the Browns. They are going to suck big time this year.

I agree the Giants got robbed but I have no problem with him finally gone. He only played in 16 of 32 games in the last 2 years. Giants offense had their best month of the season in December when he was hurt.

WRs dont win games.

Adios OBJ.

I don't disagree with any of this. I am just simply saying that they could have (and indeed should have) gotten more in return for him.

As a Giants fan, the biggest problem I have (besides Gettleman still having a job) is the absolute nonsense they believe Eli has plenty left in the tank and are more than content moving forward with him.

If you’re trading Beckham for the future, what’s the point of keeping Eli?

If McAdoo got what he wanted, Eli would be gone, Beckham & Landon Collins would likely still be Giants.

Scary thought, but accurate.

ESPN's Dan Graziano ...

"The Giants are so serious about their Eli commitment they may not take a quarterback in the first round of the draft despite holding the Nos. 6 and 17 overall picks"

I really don’t understand there love for Eli. Wonder how much the old man is paying them to keep him as the starter.
